i was lookin on ush.net were sum1 posted that darren styles bought a BMW with his royalties cheque from his ringtone sales, which got me thinking, how much money do you think:
1. Styles n Hixxy are getting each from their CXH4 mixes presuming it sells as well as number 3?
2. Kevin energy etc got from their mix for bonkers17?
3. clsm got for selling B.W.C.D on the net?
4. scott brown and cat knight for example got from thee sales of the 'all about you' vinyl? and how much of that went to Cat Knight?
5. And also, how much a DJ is paid to have 1 of his tracks feature on a compilation (eexample: s3rl had weekend on bonkers 17)
i was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this. i would have thought it would go in number order, with number 1 bringing in most money 4 the dj with 5 the least, or am i wrong?
if im right, i think its wrong that more talented ppl (CLSM) arnt getting as much as the less talented (styles), but i guess they dont do it for money.
i guess i just wandered how much money was in hardcore

Proberly really has nothing to do with hardcore, other then xtreme
his mainstream trance tracks proberly brought in all the money from services like jamster, say he got a pound for 10 downloads.. all adds up in the end

And? The only difference between you and a vagina is the smell. What's your point?

i've thought about this before and i really have to question how much a hhc producer makes in a year.
do they need a main career or is do they make enough money from this to afford whatever they want.
i can hardly imagine darren styles fully afforded a BMW off of effin' ringtones of all things.
maybe from records sales to date. you forget that even with music CD's, the artist sees like 4% or something ridiculous like that. i'm assuming it's gotta be the same for vinyl even. it's not free to press those.
i really question sometimes if DJs - even pro ones - make all that much money off their stuff...
as far as your questions, i can answer none aside from this: i'd hazard a guess that styles makes more than CLSM. amounts? not sure.

I don't think any of the RB boys have sold out, they havn't left hardcore, they havn't changed their style, they make hardcore and if other companies want to make dance versions of their tunes fair play. Can't knock someone for that.

There's all sorts of money in it. However it probably isn't coming from the record sales. Maybe they are making all of their money off of their dj gigs?
Audio-x you're just acting like a douche because I called you out on that other thread. Who are you anyway? Says you are a verified artist. I think it's funny how these "artists" on this site act a fool to the people that could be the ones that are potentially playing their music. Maybe you should self reflect to see why you're broke. You could be the reason why you're doing poorly.
See, the producers that actually matter don't act like that, I don't know why you have to. Go be a dick on USH.

But is producing hardcore your full time job? It's your hobby to produce tunes, and the earnings from it allow you to afford to be able to make new ones again right? That's the point I was trying to make. You don't even want to be serious about it for a second huh? Man, it's big business out there and I understand that it's hard to break through, but isn't that what you want as an artist? To be the next big thing? If not then I guess that's cool. keep doing your thing, maybe someday it will be your full time job.

I'm a student first and foremost atm, but yeah I want to produce full time once I get my own studio space. I would like to put out some more tracks when I have the time, but I don't want to be "the next big thing" or anything like that. I just want to make music that I enjoy first and foremost, but also that other people can enjoy too. But I would never produce solely hardcore and try to make a living off of it. That's ridiculous. In fact, I DON'T produce solely hardcore. I don't like to limit myself like that. It's very narrow-minded.

I'd say in holland. That the scene has alot of money pumped in from their big events.
But the CD's over there even though they sell are very pricey. Also yet quite hard to get hold off. Which why i find it funny in away... or it could be the fact that it's banned from their charts.
