Is is stupid if a kid (me) wears Kandi because he likes happy hardcore music, and listens to nothing but hardcore, HHC, trance, and DnB. But he doesn't attend raves? I don't go to raves mostly because it's hard for me to get to them, although where I live the rave scene is pretty lively.
But I love the music and my attitude is happy generally. I'm just one happy kid. and I wear kandi, and quite a bit of it (but I definetly DON'T overdue it, unless I was at a rave =P ). But sometimes people come up to me and are like "you don't rave" but kandi isn't about raving right?
Sorry this may sound stupid. But I just don't know why I am being criticized.

on a more serious note... does it really matter? i personally don't see a reason to wear "kandi" outside of a rave (then again, i think it's kinda strange to wear it at a rave too...), but if you want to... do it! if people feel they are "more qualified" to wear kandi than you are, they're being slightly hypocritical as i'm pretty sure the whole kandi scene is about being open and accepting, is it not?
in conclusion... who cares!

well part of the whole kandi thing
is about trading with each other; tis like a instant friendship sorta thing..
and the fact that you don't really go to raves sorta defeats the point; but hey, do whatever the hell you want. =]

I give them away to good friends. and fellow Kandi people trade with me (although there is only a couple at school). But I like it so ima wear it.
It's not like I care what people think, I just think it's stupid that they think I don't like rave music when it's all I ever listening to. But whatever.
and Kandi is those bracelets that are made of pony beads (they can be necklaces and other things as well but I only wear bracelets) that you sometimes see, especially at raves. They're really colorful and a huge part of the rave scene where I am from.

Same here. I dress skater-ish. With semi tight pants (but hardly at all) and everyone thinks I listen to emo screamo shit.
and I used to.
But times are a changin and I'm like nawww.
I also hate when people hear my music over my ipod and are like "haha you're listening to the party boy song!!"
I'm like yeahhhh eat shit.

I went to the Y today and some guy I go to school with thought I still listening to that kinda music. I was like nope.
I also think It's odd there are more guys here, because, even we're younger in my life.
My chick friends are making me burn them hardstyle/hhc CD's
While guys think it's all gay, other than than a bit of hardstyle, and any DJ Caffiene stuff.

Haha, I'm 13. and have been though like 2 phases. I'm happy now, and happy I went thoguh them, cause you can learn a ton (random fact).
But I think kandi is super cute in real life if it's not over done.
And if someone wheres a ton, at least wear a neon shirt. People look like fags with to much kandi and some slipknot shirt. It's like WTF. Wow, I sound like the average, blonde teenage girl :)
