Hi all.
Well, I recently got ACID Pro 6, and I know there's these compilation CDs/DVDs out there that offer MIDI synths, beats, sounds, etc. etc. etc. I was wanting ones that had stuff from Hardcore, Happy hardcore, Gabber, and Trance. What are ones you would recommend? And while I'm at it, what do you think of ACID Pro 6, coupled with GoldWave (keyboard is Yamaha DX100)? I'm a student so I don't have that much money. :(

at the end it the more important stuff, personally go with vipzone, its a sample site or get a soft snyth if u can use them with your programs, never used em, seen them around stores, but really i think if u want to play around they are great, but if your considering to move on with the stuff go with cubase or reason 3 they are great. but if your limited on money get Project5 v 2.0 or 2.5 same thing its alot cheaper, 150 acedemic version if u got a music teacher, its got a sampler that samples the stuff only given to you lol, makes no sense, an analog snyth(just like z3ta a 200$ snyth), drum machines(3) and its personally all u need, just skill required in my say. but yeah im look for the same thing as u so make sure u read the link above gl producing
p.s just drop by your local guitar center if your in usa, and ask around they will help, but dont let them sell ya stuff they will even make u take a loan if they could ehehe, just ask for advice and look for some cheap stuff like zero-g, bigfish audio, m-audio and other samples/loops just make sure they work with what ya got

I'm guessing this is cubase? http://www.campustech.com/academic-product/steinberg-cubase-4-mac-win/ste10600-bc.html I'm new to whole music making stuff, so I guess when I've got the hang of it (And I have $400) I'll buy Cubase.
P.S. What I meant by compilation CDs were ones that had MIDI sounds on them. I think using loops is a cheap shortcut!

for the BEST sample complilations i'd suggest
Vengeance essential clubsounds vol's 1 & 2
vipzones are over used as they are cheap

acid pro 6 is vst compatable yeah ? if so try & get a copy of cakewalks - Z3ta+ one of the best synths out atm imo

Um, thanks, but I meant MIDI sounds. The cool stuff you generate with a keyboard. 
btw Acid arrived at my house today and I've been playing around with it all evening!

You can get Cubase 3 over here for £100 so wld think it wld be abit cheaper over in the us
I was lucky i got friend of mine to build me a pc so it come kitted out with reason, ReCycle Sony acid pro wavelab and that
And it only cost me £380 whats **** all for a new pc nevermind all the programs on it
