Hey guys and gals!
Just thought I would drop by and say hi - let you know I haven't totally dropped off the face of the planet - although it feels like I have! Just been super-busy since last September with my thesis and other stuff. The end is in sight though now! And I should be back in action this Summer with any luck! Until then I am hiding away :-)
In case any of you are from the North, one thing I have been involved in lately is:
www.imeche.org/PublicChallenge - a competition to design a fruit/veg peeler for the disabled with the final hosted by Johnny Ball, and £500 prize money up for grabs. I'm sure one or two of you will be interested in that.
Other than that, nothing really intersting to say. Hope everyone is keeping well, and keep in touch. If any of you want my email address then drop me a PM - email and phone are pretty much the only way to keep in touch with me at the mo!

Hello there. Nice to know you still think of us from time to time ;)
Hope everything goes well for you. I'll have to pass on the peeler as I wouldn't have a clue. Just out of interest... What type of disability is it for? Obviously some disabled wouldn't have a problem with a normal one.

Yes Lilley, a paraplegic would be one case. But also arthiritic or stroke victims also! Basically reduced use of one or both hands is the order of the day. We're raising cash for the Stroke Association.
Bulby - the copmpetition is aimed at the public, so no-one will have a clue!
