But what really made Hapy 2B Hardcore the first step in to Happy Hardcore for so many North American ravers (and casual listeners) is the tracklisting. It contained such gems and anthems from a wide array of artists and labels, it was simply irresistible.
I'm personally not a fan of Bonkers before the 8th volume of the serie, and I think Happy 2B Hardcore definitely contained less of these forgetable tracks the old Bonkers were in my opinion filled with (amongst the rest of the pure anthems and good stuff of course :P)
Sorry but Chapter 1 was "AWFUL" mixing wise.
The mixing varied from "AWFUL" to "OK".
Some of them had great tracklistings but I'd still rather listen to Bonkers 3 for example.

I'm pretty sure most people have never listened to H2BH as a non-stop mix, but rather downloaded all the mp3's from p2p programs, with Artist Name Anabolic Frolic. Anabolic Frolic - Shooting Star anyone? :P
On a more serious note, I think the mixing on most H2BH is fine enough to let the listener enjoy the tracks fully.

a friend introduced me to frolic and this was prolly what got me into hardcore. since then yes, there have been better mixing and compilations but it wasn't THAT bad. i think chpt 5 was my fav. though i didn't know much about hardcore at the time.
