Back on topic i spose the way to be heard is the internet nowadays, ive had many chances to perform live (Due to being friends with a dj) but since i do get stage fright unless im drunk iv never properly done a full set, much prefer to record stuff in a studio ( But imo hardcore tunes with Mc's on them have never been particularly good ). But if you really want to get heard i would say the internet and getting demo's to promotors is by far the best bet, theres a lad round Stoke atm and as far as i know he played a demo to a local promotion and now hes working with Druid......
*Jealous*

As for tips I wouldnt really know since never perfroming live for very long or even slightly sober. I spose i shouldnt really call myself an Mc more a lyric enthusiast haha. The only tip i would give is keep improving, asin when you write a lyric and think its good dont just stop there write more and then come back to it. I mean i use originally terrible lyrics that have been improved over the years into pretty dam fine lyrics. So you can always better yourself and improve your style so practice practice practice.

Ok wicked cheers 4 that. Ive got a few lyrics but they are not very good, like you say i think its a case of coming back to them and keep working on them

most MCs ryme about nothing that has any relivance to anything, they also dont ryme..

make sure your lyrics ryme and have relivance that people can relate to
