Howdy guys.
Ok, considering I've got a day off and not much to do, I've been having a think about a large idea that could get a few more listeners tuned in to the station. It is only an idea so if you think it's rubbish, I'll no doubt read your views soon.
Anyway.... my idea.....
Has anyone here ever thought on about an older mix recorded by a HH.com DJ that you really enjoyed listening to on the station back in the day, but thatmix is no longer on the playlist or available for download meaning you cannot listen to it any more? I most certainly have and if you have, my idea is a way for everyone to get involved in what would be a week of quality listening!
My idea is to dedicate a certain few hours of a given day during a dedicated week (ie: Monday to Friday @ 12 Noon - 5pm for example) and play a selection of mixes recorded by HH.com DJ's back-to-back together... AND HERE'S THE BEST PART!! The mixes can be chosen by YOU!!
A forum + poll could be posted on to the forums and a selection of the HH.com's DJ's mixes can be selected from the poll and the top 4 or 5 mixes that have the largest number of votes would be played back-to-back on a chosen day during the dedicated week. Due to the number of DJ's on the station it could go on for a couple of weeks solid, but does anyone else think this is a decent idea?
It could be called 'The HH.com Classic Mix Compilation Extravaganza' featuring DJ 'X' and 'X' etc etc!
I'll be honest, yes, I haven't been around much this last 9 or so months, but I certainly don't forget great mixes and you guys shouldnt either. This kind of special showcase event could allow some of our older listeners to remenisce about past mixes and give our newer listeners the chance to experience what we all loved listening to from say 2000 onwards.
Anyway, It's only an idea that I'm throwing into the mire. If anyone else thinks it maybe a good idea, why not let Silver and the crew know and see whether something like this can be organised. I personally think it is a good idea, hense why I have vented my thoughts with you all in this way.
Oh, and as for me, I'll going to try and get some more mixes recorded for you all very soon. I've been working like a trojan recently and I am starting a new job away from home next week meaning it'll be even harder to find time to mix and mash. HOWEVER, I am dedicated to doing it so I will certainly try my best and hopefully in a couple of months you'll see some new mixes of mine playing on the station.
For now, take care and I hope you all find this idea a decent one and can try and get some momentum behind it. We'll see eh!!
Cheers, Andy

I think its a good idea yes, you just need to set up a good system of voting for which mixes to play. I feel as though the radio needs a good shuffle. But certain things are on the horison.

Doubt that will happen - the current cost of a licence for allowing downloading is astronomical!
