Getting along is fine, but united? Never going to happen, and I wouldn't want it to.

Being European doesnt mean youre any less British. Being in the EU does not diminsh your or your countries British identity. EU has never been and never will be about being "as one", i mean just the motto is "united in diversity".
Though i dont think theres anything wrong with you not wanting to be united. But where do you draw the line, do you want Britain to be isolated with more then just the water?

For the same reason anyone has ever said anything on any forum ever, it's what a forum is for, to discuss things.

TBH All we should have is a World Day and it should run from Jan 1st to December 31st. We're all the same no matter how we look or speak and patriotism isn't cool or unique it just happened to be where your parents ****ed at.

Patriotism and nationalism aren't the same thing. There's nothing wrong with patriotism, unfortunately most of the people who call themselves patriots aren't patriot at all, they're just flag waving bigoted sheep. Real patriotism isn't divisive, it's for the good of your country, and NOT at the expense of others.

ppl seem to forget these days that true patriotism isn't blindly following your governement but questioning them and their motives.
A true patriot strives toward what is best for the country and it's ppl, not what the governement says is best for them.
Nationalism is is something I'll just never understand.
