I was wandering how I would go about copyrighting my DJ Name & my Record Company, Narcotik Recordings. I have heard of a technique where you send your own DJ profile & even a CD marked with one of your set's, to yourself, through the mail so that when it comes back, it has been post dated with a royal mail stamp. Is this true? Cheers

by proffing you where the first one to use it I guess, but you cant enforce it even if someone where to use the same name, unless you pay alot of money to register your name as a product in most countries

Don't bother. It's just a name, it's probably already taken like everything else, and it generally comes off as obnoxious and overly litigious to get the law involved if there's a dispute over a name.
(and I know nothing about UK copyright law, but over here, a piece of media is copyrighted the moment it comes into existence, but mailing it to yourself will give it some legal proof that the thing in question existed when you say it did.)

you will need to trademark it in your country, it would be pointless if u had a generic name like "odyssey", which 1000 dj's are called

Narcotik, that is such a great original name. If i were you i would copyright it straight away so the 100 peoople that used it before you would be screwed.
