Are you completely crazy??! That's the worst thing that can happen to hardcore!
Yeah! Let's make hardcore become electro! Fantastic! What a ****in stupid idea...
He means there's more electro sounds that are being used in hardcore tracks... there's a bunch of recent al storm tracks, and at least 1 kurt track that makes use of sounds. trance leads get boring... new sounds are required.
But why is it necessary to bring sounds from other styles? Hardcore should have its own unique sound.
have you listened to elektro therapy? http://www.happyhardcore.com/images/news/20080616/electro_clip.mp3 tell me that doesn't sound like hardcore.
I know that track. It's hardcore, but it's not good hardcore. It's awful. Hardcore doesn't need this 'electro therapy', it should be 'cured' another way. Hardcore has to be energetic and full of life. This electro sound is just boring.

100% agree with that, i almost found myself trying not to like newer hardcore because of the current state of "The scene" and iv always tried to class my self as Old Skool. But at the end of the day if a tunes good im going to listen to it regardless of genre or artist....Just is a shame that there is so many dick heads in the scene right now.

I don't really think much of Electro but it seems popular in the clubs so I guess the bandwagon jumpers are going to take it on! If it don't work well with Hardcore though then that could mean a downfall. What will happen? Will artists then go back to the Trance/bass line sound which will then be deemed 'Old Skool' as these where the artists who wanted to 'move with the times'?

ppppfftttttt. Replication is 90% of innovation - no style is completely unique - and they borrow sounds from each other all the time!
But I think its pretty much going to be the same as it was this year. Why is that considered a bad thing though?
I speak for some other producers that i know and myself when i say that whats most imortant is just writing good music. Fact.
All i'm focusing on this year is writing good music and pushing the aussie scene. Thats all. Guess what? I'm doing the same thing next year, and the year after that, and the year after that for as long as hardcore will have me.

well duh listening to hardcore just because you've liked it in the past is silly! if you don't enjoy the sound, there's no use in subjecting yourself to it. i'll admit i don't like much uk hardcore now, i listen to way more trance/dnb/dutch hardcore/house/hardstyle now, but there's still some hardcore tracks coming out that are amazing! makes me wish there were more good ones, but what can you do?

Fair enough you preferred it back then, yeah we get the picture but do us all a favor and **** off, your opinion is boring and has little substance to be honest.
why dont u go listen to your old fantasia tape and wank over a young sy, and let us lot get on with listening to the best music around.

For 2009?
The quality of tunes will continue to grow with more diverse tracks across the sub genres (shit, that sounded like a coherent sentence! lol)
Also more of the established producers trading off their big name DJ status from the early 90's will leave the scene.
Big for 2009... Darwin, Darren Styles, Breeze, Dougal, Gammer, Squad E, Scott Brown - and others we've never heard of...
oh and new albums - Bonkers 18, True Hardcore 3, Clubland X-Treme Hardcore 6 (5 this year), Breeze & Styles The Album, Helter Skelter Vs Raindance (or called something similar) and Hardcore Underground 4 (3 this year).
Goodbye for 2009... Sy & Unknown, Brisk, Luna C (don't like saying that whatsoever - a true ledgend).

Very much doubt that. Luna-C as far as im aware as already left hardcore for the time being, but i don't know if he'll be coming back. Sy & Unknown not a chance in hell of them leaving til they both develop Alzheimer's and forget what hardcore is, and brisk - dear god i hope not. But again i really doubt he'll be going any time soon.

I hate this whole commercial/underground division. Its all Hardcore, and just because its "trancey-wave your arms in the air" doesnt mean its "commercial". Heck, listen to 1997 Hardcore, it' very sing-a-longish. I think Hardcore will still be here, and I guess for you UK peeps, it will just get bigger in the charts, but remember, when anything in the top charts is replaced by something new, all the people jump to that and forget about what they last liked, and that's when you will see an increase in a more "underground" scene again.
