You can't really say that, Hardcore may seem bad to others.

back in 1600, 1700, 1800, when there was not the technology for recording music, artists were paid only when the performed...
so I think in the future, music recordings will be more like advertisements so people get to know the artists and go to live shows...

free music would be nice.
you don't have to pay to appreciate a famous painter's piece of artwork, but you do need to pay in order to actually OWN a copy (or the original)
less-than-perfect quality should be free for promotional use (a la live sets or studio mixes). free shit quality singles should be available - and i'm sure they are, somewhere - but anything else should be purchased.
wilky, i'm with you in the sense that it should be free to appreciate a certain song however many times you want, but to own the best full length version of it (vinyl or legit download) you should pay.
artists do need to get paid tho, ya know?

If you want free music listen to the radio.... How do you expect music people to earn a living? I'm not against free music but the artists have to get paid.

No, that way you have to worry about people not making music at all.

i think it should be up to the artist - it would be nice if it was free certainly
perhaps if it was free it would stop people from making the clone-hardcore stuff that gets stuffed onto cheep hardcore albums..
because of the world we live in - cds and vinyl cost money to produce material wise, as does advertising...no money, no materials...
if everything went Mp3 suddenly and we decided to stop using materials (propably much better for the enviroment no?) i still think alot of people would pay for the music if it was a kind of "donation" option - wasnt it radiohead who did that with one of their albums? and they still made a mint.
i you were a huge recording artist with a mass following - i would have thought you would make more money if you released your latest single as a download only and put a price on it - not having to pay for all the cds being pressed and what not...
should music be free? - i dont think thats up to me.

Because they are radiohead, no new band could do that, anyone pre 2001 can do it, NiN tried to do it with a new band produced by NiN in 2005, totally failed, lost alot of money.... NiN (the band) themselves did it, made a ton of money. While I agree it's a cool idea unless you're already well known it aint gonna work.
If the talented orbit1 (for example) suddenly made the best pop tune in the world put it up on the internet for people to download and pay X amount if they wish, I'm quite sure (with no disrespect to his music skills) he would not be able to pay for even his internet bill at the end of the month. Why? because he would get no main stream media coverage... best way to sell big albums... get on a reality TV show, act like an idiot then make an album... or be paris hilton.

Silver, people in hardcore arnt willing to splash the cash to advertise hardcore.
why do u think most non hardcore artists do well? advertising. crazy frog for instance in the uk, advertised to death, got in everyones head, sold really really well. if hardcore was on the tv alot in mags and tv guides then the money would roll in 4 the producers... just needs sum one to start it off
