Without doubt, these 2 are the biggest names in the Scottish scene & have been for the best past of a decade but I was wandering who people prefer to listen to now & in the past because their styles have changed sooooo much over the years! Scott Brown is a pioneer of the bouncy hardcore style we have to day but that's not to take anything away from Marc cause he also done his part for bouncy hardcore back in the mid 90's.
The only thing that might sway me to Marc Smiths side is the Trancecore sound that him & Sharkey, & loads more, promoted on the early Bonkers. I'm a huge fan of this style & he had a major influence in it, as well as sharkey.
Both are absolute legends & deserve a lot of respect for what they have done for hardcore but I was wandering what the general opinion is of these 2 giants!

I think I'd have to go with Scott to be honest. I like Marc Smith but Scott's just that bit more to my taste.

Scott Brown for me.
I really enjoyed their Bonkers 17 mix together, I'd be very pleased if they do another B2B for the next one.

Difficult one really, both very good producers, Scott Brown has made some real classic tracks but I prefer Marc Smith's freeform sound. Some of his tunes from the early Bonkers series such as "Boom n Pow", "The Procrastinator", "Nothing More", "Encounters" and "Death by Stereo" are classics. Some of his tracks recently especially with Gammer have been really good and "Let It Hit 'Em" is a great tune.

Yeah, I think i'd agree with you there sense of hardcore. As much as I love Scott Brown & his styles through the years, I loved what Smith & Sharkey done in the early bonkers & thought it would be much bigger today than it is.
I suppose overall from everyones views, Scott Brown is the winner! What a Legend!

their music lately doesn't really do it for me, however back in the bouncy techno days those guys would tear it up. Scott Brown, Marc Smith, and Brisk = lethal bouncy techno

Scott for sure
Marc Smith plays too dark and edgy for my taste
Mind you, I haven't been too impressed with Mr. Brown in recent years
