ok, I recently decided to record a Hardcore V's Freeform mix, playing tune for tune for each style. I think theres a great contrast on there with many styles of both hardcore & freeform & i'm sure you'll agree, its a wicked face off!
I enjoyed mixing both styles in & out of each other in this mix & I will deffo be combining the styles much more in the future. It keeps the mix much more fresh as you don't know where its headed! Also, the contrast between the Hardcore & Freeform mixes is very different & switches the mood in a second!
I have to admit that i've always been a great admirer of Freeform even in its early stages as Trancecore & I feel its the future for us ravers but Hardcore has fought back over these past few years with many producers creating much fresher sounds & pushing the boundaries that bit more! Also, i've noticed a bit of freeform influence in hardcore & vice versa so mabey both can push each other to new heights!
So, here it is people. Whack this on your stereo & let the debate begin! What will we be bouncing to in, say 10 years from now?
P.S. I enjoyed mixing the styles together so much that i'm going to start on a Vol 2 asap so keep your eyes peeled! If anyone wants a tracklist then let me know & i'll get that sorted no probs.

Cheers for the feedback as usual people! Greatly appreciated
TL's have been sent & if anyone else would like one just let me know.
So whats you preference then? Hardcore or Freeform? Over the past few years i've been drawn in by the fresh, storming sound of the freeform but IMO hardcore is also getting as creative. It took me a while to get into new sounding hardcore but with freeform, it was love @ first....eh listen. Ever since I listened to Kev Energy's mixes, I realised the power of freeform & the different styles each & every track has.
Come on! Let me know what you prefer!

Downloading now mate cheers...
im not to familiar with freeform..but isn`t it a cross between hardcore & trance
I thought thats what trancecore was...whats with the name change..
I know it probably sounds a bit different from what trancecore was years ago
but isn`t that just because trance & hardcore sounds different today than it was back then.
so if its still a cross between trance & hardcore then isn`t it still trancecore
Anyway im rambling.....LOL
Thanks again for the mix ken...let you know what i think later mate..cheers

yeah, your right there catjam. its basicly trancecore although its been through a few changes over the years. Too be honest, I think trancecore never took off as well as first hoped & mabey thats the thinking behind, renaming the genre. To give it a new leese of life but i'm not 100% mate.
Mabey someone can shed a bit of light on this. I've also wandered why it changed to Freeform as it is still Trancecore.
