On the sleeve of CHX5 bonus CD he dedicated the whole mix to his brother. Shame bout his brother. Horrible to lose someone so close.
does anyone know what happened to his brother at all ?

Some day we'll meet again,
One day we'll speak again,
I'll never forget you,
My friend.
You keep on guiding me,
Even though you're gone.
I try to keep smiling,
On and on.
Even though you are out of sight,
You'll never be out of minds.
And through my darkest days,
Know that you always shine...
My guiding light,
My guiding light,
My guiding light.
Even though you are out of sight,
You'll never be out of minds.
And through my darkest days,
Know that you always shine...
My guiding light,
My guiding light,
My guiding light,
My guiding light.
I know you're so far from here but,
I still feel you near.
Always beside me,
My friend.
You keep on showing me,
Every right from wrong.
You gave me the strength,
To carry on and on.
Even though you are out of sight,
You'll never be out of minds.
And through my darkest days,
Know that you always shine...
My guiding light,
My guiding light,
My guiding light.
Even though you are out of sight,
You'll never be out of minds.
And through my darkest days,
Know that you always shine...
My guiding light,
My guiding light,
My guiding light,
My guiding light.
Took the courtesy of writing out the lyrics, quite a sad song really, awesome tune though!

Lets not forget that music is a great form of expression, and what better way to let the world know than putting it on a high profile album =x
If it is him singing, Hixxy > Darren Styles.

Maybe you could make an exception for Shooting Star?

No disrespect to him for doing it and i'm not questioning his, or anybody else's, morals who do this atal. Its his track he can do what he wants with it i don't respect him any more or less.
And i very much doubt that those vocals haven't been edited and tuned somehow so he's probably not as great a singer as everyone's saying, but hey who knows.
I would do it.
Think of it this way - the more money an album makes, clearly the more people have bought it, which means more people will listen to it. What IS a better way to make a *REALLY* important song to you, reach as many people as possible?
Plus when did songwriting about something personal to you for profit a bad thing?
Is that not what GOOD songwrites do?

o yea of course that's any artist's vocals even the big name ones. i can only imagine how much they had 2 fix up darren style's vocals cuz his vocals seem to be getting worse imo with every new track he comes out with
Theres a LOT more to singing than singing in key. Bar fx and tuning theres not really much you can do for a voice. All the emotion, tone, light and shade, intonation, syncopation and all other techniques (legato, cruscendo, vibrato etc) aren't faked and is dependent on the actual voice singing it.
As much as people want to believe theres a magic machine for making a bad voice good, there isnt. Use your heads come on.
I think it's almost comical that people who have no idea about singing (i'm not talking about anyone in particular) seem to think they have a legit opinion on what is good and what isn't. You don't. You have an opinion on what you like and dislike but you don't have an opinion on what is technically good or bad.
Darren styles doesn't have a bad voice. It sounds semi-untrained. But he doesn't have a breathy voice, his tone is clear, and his voice is strong. It's not bad. Its not as pleasant sounding as Re-con's, but everyone's voice sounds different. Although i think because DS sounds like a baritone and Re-con is a tenor that makes a difference - i think higher singing sounds better in hardcore.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing and that people shouldn't do it. My point was that you said he wasn't money grabbing for doing this, but really he is in a way. I'm just stating my opinion. If he chooses to write a song, poem, musical (whatever) about his brother's death fair enough. But to put it on a CD is, to an extent, quite a money grabbing thing to do. But whatever i'm not saying he should or shouldn't do it. Fair play to the guy.
About the singing - i'm maybe not as clued up as you on the technical terms etc, but does that mean i don't appreciate a good voice when i hear one and realize when someone does genuinely have a bad voice? No. IMO, Freddie Mercury, Tony Hadley, Beyonce, Caleb Followill all have amazing singing voices so i can recognise when a singers voice is half decent. And tbh i just don't think Hixxy's voice is all that.
