i'm hoping some non-fanboys will be willing to reply soon.
"It's hard to take you seriously here after that scott brownie thing..."
wtf are you on about??
you're f**kin pathetic, u know that right?
I will admit i really don't like Scott Brown much these days because a lot of it does sound the same, but what DJ doesn't have a signature sound? S3RL has one too! would u like to rant about him too?
But regardless of whether u or anybody else thinks he is s**t or not, he is a legend. He kept hardcore alive back at the turn of the century when it was dying. if it wasn't for him, the scene would probably be gone by now or maybe ALL of it would have been "commercial." i don't really know, and i definitely don't care to know i like the scene the way it is.
and what would u rather do? would u like to resurrect Blumchen? cuz that's the only hardcore i know that comes out of Germany. please fill us in to what YOU like so that we can s**t on ur parade too!
and yea i'm an idiot for responding, but o well!

where someones from doesn't really have anything to do with how music sounds to them, ya know?
i don't care for scott brown at all after about 1996 with exception for a tune here and there, but i wouldn't go to say he's killing the scene. yeah he churns out tunes that are samey but so does raverbaby producers. all of the producers create tunes in the same vein as their last because it keeps them paid.
i dub thee troll.

its pretty obvious. 95 announced his last post on my thread, anyone with an ambition of returning doesnt do this. scott brown makes fantastic music and has contributed to the scene just as much as any of your favourite dj's or producer's, if not, more!
as Q-Tex(?), his music was old skool, so how can you hate him so much. i though that 95' was the time... he was making tunes at that time :S
u beat me 2 it. this is so beany
scott brown is a bit of a shit mixer, transition wise but a fantastic producer

I haven't been feeling the guys stuff for the last few years bar one or two tracks I must admit. Definitely needs to delete his preset banks.
He is clearly a legend though. Done some amazing stuff throughout the 90's and some of, IMO, the best stuff of this millennium. Sure, he samples loads of stuff but so do most dance producers.

hell even hip hop artists sample electronica tracks now.
kanye west w/ stronger
the new rihanna song has the Mona Mona song (i doubt i'm spelling that right)
and believe it or not i ran across some female hiphop artist that samples pretty rave girl!
sampling is gettin more and more popular now and it doesn't matter which genre, it happens in all it seems

defo like his old stuff, yes he is a legend, even 95 will agree to that (i think), but of late some of his stuff can be downright shithouse.
stuff like bad boy and like an angel will remain faves for long ages.
but do agree in respect to stepping aside and letting the new kids have a spin

Have to agree with whattahw on the part that Scott's music in 2000 has been boring most of the time. Few good tracks here and there, but whenever you find a good track, you'll hear the same bass, samples and everything used in gazillion more tunes. Its just overkill. Same goes for most UK Hardcore IMO. I dont think its killing the scene though or anything like that. Just that to me 90-95% of UK Hardcore made after 2002 is plain boring.

Considering Brown for me is the scene with the rest following his sound. But yes, I'd take something fresh/different from anyone right now over the mainstream sound if you will. Some music at least away from the trance and breakdowns. Back to more "rave" based now. The Scotchman, LOH, Equazion series - evolving this sort of thing in unexplored ways. Brown would do this. Styles, Hixxy, and the rest I cannot ever see making that sort of stuff. So Brown is vital, as ever. The bus thing is unwarranted.
