So its my birthday tomorrow and tonight I was supposed to be going out for a meal with my ex-gf (we are seeing eachother again) we have both been really looking forward to it and now she has just rang me to say that she cant make it cause she had already promised her best mate she would go clubbin wiv her!!!!
Now I know she wouldnt lie, she porbably did promise her friend 1st and she genuinely does feel really bad about it, she has suggested we go sunday instead which is fine by me, but im just gutted cause i wanted to do it tonight lol If it was any other meal i wouldnt care but its just cause its my birthday and i was lookin forward to it! and the club she is going to tonight she doesnt even like, she is literally just going cause she had already told her mate (like her mate wouldnt understand that its my bday) and i just know that tomorrow she will moan to me that she had a crap night and ill be like 'well u should have gone out with me then lol'
Just wanted to get that off my chest lol

Am i sorry to say it sounds like your gf may not want to get back together with you as much as you do with her.
You ex could go out with her friend another night but your birthday is only once a year.
Sorry mate. Move on shes dont worth it.

Yeah....
she blew off your birthday to go clubbing...
Birthday's generally take priority regardless of what you organised first...
The way i see it is... either she's not as keen on you as you are her, or shes just a bitch.
Either way its probably not worth it.

Um pretty sure its a bigger disappointment to you than someone who wants to go clubbing...
Be upfront with her... relationships are all about communication anyways...
But you've basically just let her know that she can reschedule on you whenever she wants. Birthdays arent an everyday thing, she can go clubbing any time.
Sounds pretty immature to me.

Yeah i know what u mean mate, sorry for being defensive, but i guess u can understand with it being someone i really like. She feels really guilty, she has rang me twice now apologising and has said that we will see eachother tomorrow, saturday and sunday and that she will make up 4 it :) lol
It is her best mate that she is going out with and she promised her ages ago, its some kind of college night out and her mate doesnt really know anyone or something. I am gutted but she is really apologetic and she does genuinely feel bad so i have to forgive her. I just asked her if Id have asked first (to go out tonight) would she have turned her mate away and she said she would so i have to trust her.
Like you say, relationships are about communication and that is something we aere good at

Go to the club, be happy, be the star ( afterall its your BIRTHDAY!! ) at least pretend to enjoy it all, cause no pressure, even take some of your mates on the lads night out. Be polite, suggest you couldn't beat them so you joined in and didn't want to sit at home lonely and bored. Offer them the meal for afterwards or say ' see ya sunday!'
A smile and guilt work wonders and at least you will have some memories. Even if its only Crap pop Christmas tunes to take the piss out of.
ANYWAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Stand opposite the bar, check the mirror and have a scotch on me Stevie C.
If you can smile inside you'll know your ok.
and you are..but you know that right.

i would be questioning it personally if it was me.....she could go out any night of the week for christs sake......

Oh yeah, i always let her know how i feel and she does me, thats what i mean, we do have a good relationship and we will talk about it and ill tell her again that i was really disappointed. I think if we were proper bf and gf again then she wudnt have cancelled me but we are just taking things slow at the moment and seeing how it goes

Nah mate i understand.
I was once defended my (now ex) girlfriend so heavily that i got into a physical fight with one of my best mates.
In retrospect, she treated me like shit... so... Retrospect is great.
Oh so she's actually seeing you on your birthday? That completely changes things. I mean its one thing to say "sorry, can't see you thursday night, im going clubbing. Oh, its your birthday? I can't reschedule... ill see you three days after your birthday" And its a completely different thing to see you the very next day (your birthday, correct?)
Oh well shit happens. If she's making an effort then its all good - actions speak louder than words.
Happy Birthday btw, considering as its Friday here now ;)

At home you can relax but go out and the possibilities are endless.
1) Drink to much
2) Have a kebab
3) wander the streets aimlessly
4) Watch a fight but don't get involved..then run away
5) Look at the girls and think they must be f'in freezing in that
6) Bump into you parents
7) Attack some one for kissing your sister
8) Think...shall I ring the doorbell? Its not that late really!!
9) Sing Hey baby at the top of your voice
10) Throw stones at windows..its not that late really
11) wake up rough as a dog thinking where am I?
12) Think oh my god is it that late already!!
13) Its now Friday lets do it again and on Saturday!! the paracetamol will kick in quick I'm sure.
14) Have a great birthday what ever you choose.

Tbh i'd pick my mates over most birds. She might be special to you and vice versa (not questioning that btw), but women do come and go - mates stick by you. Maybe she feels the same about her friends, i dunno, but at least she's making an effort for you mate and still seeing you on your birthday. Hope all turns out gravy and that lad and happy birthday for tomorrow!

Happy b-day redwingz.
You should confront her about this and tell her that birthdays are pretty high priority and that she should get serious about it. If she can't it might be time to move on.
