And no, I never said that my mac crashed, I said that if I have 35 apps opened, which require a lot of power, my mac freezes. But this never happens because I never have 35 apps open at the same time. Read carefully before you open your big mouth.

by your own admission, your mac froze (crashed). just because you now never have that many open doesnt mean your mac is exempt.

ps, i didn't open my mouth, i am talkin on a forum, that is typing not speaking

Are you actually trying to argue that Windows, the most unstable consumer OS out there, is somehow any more reliable than Mac OS X, a UNIX based OS?

Ridiculous. You can dislike Macs because they're overpriced bimbo magnets but their OS is VASTLY superior and that's a fact. The build quality in their PCs is also astounding. The new Macbook Pro shits on anything in its' price range.

To answer the original question IMHO a Macbook is very suitable for making music as thats what I do. Sure a higher spec machine would be better but if your just starting off then go for it.

My Macbook has crashed a couple of times but nothing compared to the PC at work that falls over all the time. They are not perfect but I much prefer Macs over PCs for both usability, product design and build quality.

yes you will be able to use one, but at the end of the day you could spend the same money and get a better desktop computer (mac or PC) and have more capabilities when producing, if you need the laptop to travel with aswell as just producing at home then get the laptop :D

Or you can get both, like me : a desktop computer AND a laptop. When you're at home you can use your DC, and when you're in the train, the bus or anywhere else and you got some free time you can use the laptop to refine it. BTW DJ Kurt is using a Mac :-) .

Read the topic again and look what's higher up on the kit list my man. ;) Who gives a shit though. Both are fine for making music. If you don't need a lappy for a specific reason get a desktop as you will get more power for ya cash.
