as far as the sound, it ain't the same. you can clearly tell the difference in the speed, among other elements. but yea the remixes of popular songs it's always been part of the electronica genre.
curiously tho, is this what people call scouse house? because some of the songs clearly fall into progressive house (floofilla anthem #2 was categorized like that when it came out).
i've been trying to compile some of my songs into the genres and subgenres of electronica and i am having difficulty sometimes because of the constant changes in style. basically what was trance in early 2000 (melodic, vocal, progressive) is called something else these days.

TBH i think the styles are quite similar. The only differences between most UK Hardcore and scouse house is the slower speed (though that doesnt really mean different styles) and the fact they've put a donk on it (though in plenty of UK Hardcore tunes there is almost a donk on it).
