Good to see some feedback! Rutland was added to Leicestershire for a few years as a district but people protested so it was given it's county status back. Some small countys are part of larger ones now such as Huntingdonshire is a district in Cambridgeshire. Huntingdonshire's county town was Huntingdon home of the life sciences! Some counties where broken up in the 70s such as Yorkshire (the largest) & Sussex & someplaces changed their boundarys in response to the 1972 act!
Some counties are metroploiten counties which are similar to Greater London (not a county) such as Greater Manchester, Mearseyside, West Yorks, South Yorks, West Midlands & Tyne & Wear! There was a Humberside county as well but they gave that back to Lincs. Also there was an Avon County which is now Bristol County & parts of Somerset.
In Wales, Scotland & N. Ireland it seems a bit differnt but the shires are still there. Shire meant Sheriffdom in old days as each Kingdom was broken down! The names have stuck over time but some have lost the 'Shire' bit such as Dorset, Somerset & Wiltshire. Most of these have a differnt name to their county town.
I have also found out that Hampshire is named after Southampton which was the county town (Winchester was once the capital of England) called Southaptonshire or Hamptonshire. The names have changed over time!

Cork City, in county Cork obviously Cork's the biggest county in Ireland. Also the most southern. Second biggest city in Ireland I think. Second to Dublin of course. Completely non existent rave seen unfortunately. Most you get down here is Clubland stuff and if your really lucky some jumpstyle. The most Hardcore show I've ever been at was Cascada live in Cork City Hall just to put some perspective on it. Doesn't stop me ravin in my bedroom though

Fife. A small region in Scotland which is situated on the Firt of Forth and is linked to Edinburgh via the Forth Bridges, both which are world famous. I live in Kirkcaldy, which is Fife's largest town with a population of around 50,000.

I was born at Fort Lewis Army Hospital in Tacoma Washington, then moved to Yuba City California, then moved to Rantool Illinois, then moved to Wichita Falls Texas, then moved to Detroit Michigan, then moved to Campbell California, then moved to San Jose California, then moved to Tacoma Washington (again) then moved to Graham Washington, then moved to Tacoma Washington (again) then moved to Puyallup Washington then moved to Bremerton Washington, then moved to Shoreline Washington, then moved to Edmonds Washington, where I reside currently.
Edmonds Washington is 10 miles north of Seattle which is in King County, largest county in Washington State. Edmonds is in Snohomish County. If I were to step outside and cross the street, I would be in King County again.
My parents were in the Air Force so we moved every two years until I was 18 where we lived in Tacoma for 4 years after my mom and stepdad divorced. I went to high school during that period and also played A Level Ice Hockey. After I graduated my mom bought a house in Graham and I stayed with her about six months before moving on my own and such.
I was married and lived in Puyallup with my wife. she kicked me out after five years of a trainwreck called marital bliss, then lived with a buddy in Bremerton.
I met my current girlfriend and lived with her in Shoreline, and we rent an apartment in Edmonds right around the corner from our old place in Shoreline.
I've lived all over the place, and I love Washington State!
I'd live in downtown Seattle but it's too expensive to park there and you have to pay a large monthly fee to park as well as rent, so it isn't worth it.
And anyone that knows me knows that I love having a nice car, so I live outside of the city, but not so far that I can't go there whenever I want to, or to play the numerous gigs that happen in the city.
there ya have it!
*edited to add*
All of that took place in a time frame of 25 years or so.
