Fife. A small region in Scotland which is situated on the Firt of Forth and is linked to Edinburgh via the Forth Bridges, both which are world famous. I live in Kirkcaldy, which is Fife's largest town with a population of around 50,000.

Fife goes back to Sheakspear! In his play 'MacBeth' he was the 'Thane of Fife' so it must have been a kingdom in very old times!

for all those who dnt know where that is, it's where paul hobbs [force] and darren 'styles' meys was from :] i believe

Mu Aunt & Uncle live in Essex in a lareg village called Tiptree near Colchester. The county town is Chelsford but Colechester is the oldest recorded town in Englsn! I have been on holiday to Southend-On-Sea which is good & has the longest pier in the world! I have also been to Clacton-On-Sea where it is said Darren Styles went to a rave on Clacton Pier in 1992!

Some say Essax was the capital of the raves. Many taking place illegally! Guys such as Slipmatt & Vibes are Essax boys! Essax was an old Kingdom of England in the very olde days!

Oldham in Lancashire. Nowt much to say about it really. It used to be like the epicentre of the cotton-spinning industry or summat like that, its now a shithole but i love it.

No theres not much like that tbh, its full of funky house electro house though. Every club iv been in plays either that or RnB and Hip hop SHITE!

Theres been a few hardcore promotions (one of which i was involved with) but there only seems to be a constant 20 - 30 true ravers in Stoke that attend events here regularly....The rest are just clubbers who stumble across the nights.

Oldham is now in Greater Manchester! But it sure was another Lancashire mill town in the old days!

Sounds like Bournemouth really! The club I like (Lava Ignite) plays some hard dance though & we have Hardcore nights but really they arn't big raves (except for the odd really big onesd such as Hardcore Heaven that play at big places suchs as the BIC) alot of the 'ravers' are local kids who listen to Hardcore just like any other town!

Went there five years ago for an under 18s night so couldn't drink. Im not sure if they still do Hardcore there now because it went under new ownership. I know Hard House was big there in the 90s & people like Tony De Vit played there!

Fife does indeed go back quite a long way. It's the only county of Scotland still refered to as a "kingdom" rather than a county. Dunfermline, which is situated in Fife, was the ancient capital of Scotland.

^^^ Didn't know that Dunfermline was the capital once!

Down in the south we had 'Sex' kingdoms. These being Wessex (West), Sussex (South), Essex (East) & Middlesex in between. Wessex was all King Alfred's day I belive. Parts of Dorset still have Wessex such as the Wessex Waterworks & a main road called Wessex Way! They wanted to merge Bournemouth, Poole & maybe Christchuch to have a 'Wessex City' which has been on the cards for years but always opposed. Essex as already said is still there & Sussex is split in two, East & West. Middlesex existed until 1965 when the 'Greater London' area was created. My Mum was from Harrow in Middlesex which is now a London Borough and other parts of Middlesex became Brent. There is still the name Middlesex about such as Middlesex Cricket Club (Cricket is always counties & not towns unlike football) & there is a Middlesex Hospital I think.

East Anglia is a Region based on the Anglo Saxons I belive. The main bits there are now Norfolk & Suffolk. For some reason most people think East Anglia is another counrty lol
