im wanting to do myself a demo mix, something to show promoters etc to try get some bookings, just a good mix to show off in general. ive recorded a few mixes before but nothing i would realy say was my best. what sort of things do i need to consider when trying to make a great mix? my gear isnt that hot, ive only got one cd deck and a pretty haggard mixer, so it will mainly be mixed with vinyl. just after some advice on what to include and what needs to be in the mix to make it worth listening to.

Yup.
Put as many styles as possible into your mix. Not the same old Raverbaby/Quosh bum-fest ;)

Play what represents your selection! Give people a good example of what they would be hearing if they ever danced to one of your sets in a party. Of course, don't stick to one label/artist that you like too much, because variety is best.
