Wasn't really what the thread asked tho...
"just tryin to figure out if anyone is like me and seriously has no problem rockin out to any kind of hardcore and really any producer. i have just as much fun rockin out to a Hixxy or Darren Styles track as i do a Darwin or Al storm or S3rl or old school, break beat, freeform."
So I guess "yes" would be the right answer

i would agree with that for sure

I'll listen to anything really Depends on my mood like. I like all types of music and I think everyone can like certain songs from any genre but everyone has their favorite genres.
Like me, I can be listening to hardcore on the bus in the morning and say "No, I'm not in the mood for this today." And switch to house or whatever.
For me anyway it all depends on mood. I think limiting yourself to only hardcore or whatever because you want to be perceived in a particular way is a shame because your missing out on so much good music. Like hardcore is my "favorite" genre but I adore house at the same time. Nobody ever said it has to be one genre or the other like. Sometimes I think people don't see it like that though. People can be very childish about the genres their to good to listen to. Annoys me. Grr

Well, okay then, I just like everything that sounds good to me ;)
I have a strange taste, I like lots of different things. Cannot really describe it. There are Happy Hardcore tracks I love, and they are Happy Hardcore track I HATE ! There are Breakbeat Hardcore tracks I can never have enough of, and there are also Breakbeat Hardcore tracks that make me puke. But I guess that's just with everyone like that. I don't like useless tracks, made fast and without love. Here are the most important things in a track that attract me, from the most to the less important :
Melody
Piano Riff
Vocals
Good Bassline
Good Beat
I could listen to every track with a good melody even if the beat kinda sux. I love fast and quick piano riffs, they make me absolutely crazy. Vocals can attract me to, they do it quite often actually. And the beat/bassline ... which sucks in a lot of songs. I don't like it when the beat sounds like someone knocking on a table, and when you don't even hear the bassline, and it's just a whole things over the track which hurts your hear and makes this 'pression', if I can call it like that. Oh and what I absolutely HATE in most of the new tracks, like on Hardcore Nation 2009, are those synths that sound like Micky Mouse music, you know, very high notes, shit melody, just useless stuff. I like normal synths with a beautiful melody. But in the new tracks it sounds like some cat was walking on the right side of the keyboard.

I think you might be getting Alzheimer's. You keep repeating yourself.
Also, if you're not listening to anything after 1999 you are missing out on so much... don't be so close-minded.

It's harder but it's not hardcore. Hmm strange. If you never listen to it, how do you know how it sounds ? 2-3 tacks won't do it, that's not enough to get your opinion and image about it.

Yes I can.
I can make my opinion on anything, whether I listen to it regularly or not! Now it might not be backed with factual information, but that's why it's my opinion, not yours.
Just pointing that out.
~~
And I guess sometimes when I'm focusing (Which is what I do everytime I go to class for college, and am networking things) I don't even pay attention to what I'm listening to. As long as it doesn't have high pitched sounds that break my ear drum I don't listen to the beats and keep my focus on the task at hand.
Any other time, I pay attention to the tracks and can't just listen to listen. All goes with the mood.

I like a pretty wide variety of tunes, but there is an awful lot of really bad ones out there. To be honest though, a lot of vocal tracks put me off with how happy they are. I mean "happy hardcore" is great and everything, but for me, there is a line that shouldn't be crossed. Unless it is breakbeat. Somehow even the cheesiest tune of all can be okay if it is breakbeat.
Mostly though I like acidy freeform and more experimental stuff. Loving Hardscape atm.
Dubstep is starting to grow on me too.
