just tryin to figure out if anyone is like me and seriously has no problem rockin out to any kind of hardcore and really any producer. i have just as much fun rockin out to a Hixxy or Darren Styles track as i do a Darwin or Al storm or S3rl or old school, break beat, freeform... i drove 8 hours to see Art of Fighters...to Endymion, Luna-C, my good buddy Jodie teh DJ, to some old guy from the 90's ive never heard of - ANYTHING! MC's (if there decent) no MC's Storm an Whizz to some no namer.whatever!
the only things i cant stand are the ends of the spectrum like suuuper cheese, or super old school gabber speedcore stuff...also not a fan of video game songs USUALLY and even them in into sometimes if im in the right mood.
anyone?
or do we all have to choose certain artists and argue in thier defence to the death?

I just choose by the tracks. By just limiting yourself to certain artists you could be missing out on a lot.

I will listen to any hardcore song played, whenever its played, but recently freeform and breakbeat takes its impact on me.
A good bit of Ephexis or Cube::Hard always.

My main area is Happy/UK. I like some Gabber, like towards the end of a set, and maybe a freeform track or two in a set. To me, the Cheesier the better.

i suppose it did a bit, but its just my wording isnt quite correct, the point is minus the extreme ends of the spectrum, i not only can stand, but quite enjoy basically every bit of Hardcore...i think the point came across alright.

Exactly! That goes for me too :)
But just like Jester MC, I can rock out to any kind of Hardcore. I can even find some fun in Speedcore, although I would never listen to it outside of an event.
I don't think i'll ever understand why so many peoples on internet boards need to show disrespect to anything that they don't admire.

Possibly because they're small and narrow of vision and/or,
maybe because they attach their ego to their choice of music, and it becomes an expression of how they wish others to perceive them.
So, it becomes personal.... "insult my music and you insult me" and conversely, "I don't like 'that' so you must be worse than me".
It's all a bit silly really.
I could be wrong.

I generally like everything that tingles my eardrums in a good way.

I hope you don't mean Jet Set Radio, best soundtrack a game can have IMHO.

I like a large percentage of the better stuff out there, regardless of subgenre, at least in moderation.
That's the key though, moderation and variety. I think very few artists/DJs can get away with playing a set entirely consisting of their own productions as it ends up sounding very samey. Particuarly on a regular basis.
but *shrugs*

Saying 'I like what's good' doesn't tell us long about what you like at all. You don't get much more subjective than that! :P

Actually, I think you might be spot on.
