I have a learner's license. When I turn 16 this month I can get a full license.

i've had my full license for a long time.
congrats, but the novelty wears off dude. the initial feeling of great accomplishment is pretty sweet though.

Agree'd!
It's fun, till you run out of gas, etc.
Still beats the hell out of walking any day, though.
Unless it's nice out and I don't have to walk 13 miles.

So true. When I first started driving I was scared to death but now it's like, yeah... walking.
Congrats!

you should use your car for fun rather than to just get you places. makes driving much more exciting, keeps the novelty nice and shiny. you lot in the americas have some excelent driving roads. find you local mountain/forest pass and enjoy yourself. you have the rockies i believe? should be some killer roads in there. for the USA'ns head to tail of the dragon etc. you might realise that you can enjoy driving.
For the people in europe, if you dont know how to enjoy driving, God help you all.
For me, the novelty has never worn off.

cost me $10 when i took my test in illinois, and that was for the theory, practical and the photo at the end, i walked in without a driving license, 60mins later after taking the theory and practical i walked out with a drivers license
i dread to think how much its going to cost me back here in england with our shit rules and pay-through-the-nose attitude
theres a reason why we're tagged rip-off britain.

Yea, you calculated it about right. It costs a lot. If i remember right it was 20 hours theory, 15 hours for driving, all the paper work, and then you need to go take a driving test, theory test, night test and ice road test :p
