Actually, when referring to a track, it usually means it's been bootlegged from the original artist, and they made their own version.
Yeah, that's what I wanted to say. It's liked remixed, that's true.

When referring to a DJ set, it usually means they switch off every track or two in one set. Otherwise its a back 2 back.
Back 2 Back IS when they switch off X number of tracks in a set !
Oh lawds my bad. I thought a b2b was when one dj did half the set and then switched.
Nah, that's just um.. one DJ after another, lol. But some people call this b2b too, however it's wrong.

Holy misinformation in this thread
When referring to TRACKS that are LABELED:
VS = Can mean two things. If it's a bootleg you'll have the remixer vs the original artist (for example, if a track was "Dain-Ja vs Darude - Sandstorm" it would mean it's my take on Darude's track). If it's an original production, it means there was a collaboration (for example that Splash vs Vibes remix of Techno Wonderland. That was a collaboration - they made it together or sent the project back and forth).
When referring to DJ sets:
VS = Battle. The DJs involved usually play back to back one or two tracks at a time (one plays 1, then the other plays 1). For some music styles (like hip hop), an MC hosts and music can stop between the DJs. In hardcore/at raves, people don't want the music to stop and it's essentially a back to back set. In other words, one DJ plays 1-2 tracks, then the other does and it goes back and forth. It's not really a battle like a fight or competition.
B2B = Back to back. Each DJ plays 1-2 tracks then the other does the same, back and forth.
