i don't know where the hell u got this from this thread, but no one here is directly saying gabber is crap besides you. plus the majority of people have no issue with gabber, but i have seen certain members, such as me and wilky, that say gabber in moderation is fine.

moshing is the norm at small venetian snare gigs, can't say that for the rest of breakcore though

I am stating my opinion on gabber in a thread about... OMG, moshing and gabber?!?!?!?!?!?! But that's absurd, Trimms! Next time don't post on-topic and keep your opinions to yourself you fool.

The second rave I ever went to was a speedcore rave. There was this kid wearing a football helmet (running into people?can't say I honestly remember) I just remember it was a darker almost violent vibe.

**** that shit for a laugh, gabber is all about stomping hard not pointlessly running into each other. If i ever went to a rave and suddenly every1 starts to "mosh" as if a slayer song just started playing... id be going straight home

The first video doesn't look like a mosh pit, they look like people pushing each other for the hell of it... looks like they looked up mosh pit on wikipedia, went to an event and failed...
QFT.
That mosh pit was pathetic, the ones back in my high school where better! Yes, one year we went to a pep-assembly and started a mosh pit. Bell rang, then we all went home.

Triquita your comments earn respect from me more every day, and this is a big contributor i can tell you. Couldn't have said it better. I'm glad genuinly someone here is normal.
If your going to be a ****ing retard then keep it within other genres of music but don't bring it to Hardcore where people actually have brains and common sense.

I've been to a handful of raves and I've never seen moshers. Even in gabber (eugh) and hardstyle sets, most of the kids are too ****ed up on e to do anything angry.
Moshers tend to go to metal and punk shows round these parts, not raves.
I'm going to an angerfist show this summer though, and god dammit, there had better be some intense moshing happening. It's different in the states than in Europe though, I've seen videos of people bouncing happily along gabber in Sweden and Germany, but videos of their shows in New York and Los Angeles have tons of skinhead metal kids kicking ass.

The reason I joined the Rave scene in the 90s was for two reasons, being an indie kid I was sick of over weight hippy chicks whose life was always in crisis and because I was sick of being slammed around in mosh, If you jumped in the pit fair enough but then indie nights seemed to involve everyone pushing each other. In the rave scene space was made so people could try and dance properly and express themselves as well as being surrounded by the happy beautiful people, at least I could look even if I still couldn't get a girlfriend. I have been at some packed raves and pleased to say I have never witnessed a mosh pit, I can understand if its the Prodigy etc..that said the freedom and choice is why I dumped the whole live gig thing.
A weekend getting muddy and beat up stopped being fun,
Q weekend muddy and dancing still is fun,

I love my metal as much as my hardcore and have been partial to a bit of a mosh (although i think i'm getting a bit old for it now...). But I don't think i would want a mosh at a rave, its a different kind of feeling and a different kind of vibe. Although all the mosh pits at metal gigs and clubs have been just as friendly as a rave its just different. The friday rock night at the electric ballroom in camden used to have metal upstairs and hard dance downstairs, was THE perfect night :)
Drum and Bass makes me want to mosh but I think i'd get the crap beaten out of me if I did :(
