Hey Hardcore people!!!

Check this out...i got bored over the past week and decided to go a little crazy and make this!!!

http://s710.photobucket.com/albums/ww104/DJComplx/?action=view¤t=IMG_0387.jpg

go through the album to see the final product...

This was a Tascam XS-8 Analog Mixer for the people who want to know...
- i moved the power supply to the front b/c i shrunk the mixer down about a half inch and it didnt fit.
- the material is called acrylic
- was cut and etched with a laser cutter....

please let me know what u think!!!!

not a good place to have a power supply due to you're going to have the cable sticking out of the front and you've got the ability to accidently shut the mixer off if you bump into it.

i agree, but i placed it in a area that does not get a lot of movement or adjustment

Mad idea, looks sweet to.

But damn, I'd have trouble keeping focus when trying to adjust volume, etc. My eyes go straight to the chips, and fail to see everything else lol.

really cool
you should put some red, blue or purple cold cathode lights in it, it should make it easyer to see the words
but awesome idea

edit: how much did it cost to build it

Well the mixer was $100 (New $650) and the material was about $30 give or take...
The biggest investment was time...
to get the clean cuts and to get everything to match up i spent hours measuring and plotting and adobe illustrator file with all the text as well as cuts.

i didnt get it right the first time though...
FYI... all the cutting was done with a laser cutter that they have at my school so its something that a lot of people dont have access too.

with the lights that react to sound, mabe have 1 colour for each side of the cross fader, and 1 more colour for the output

ex:
input 1, green
input 2, red
output to phones/speakers, purple

that kinda would look cool lol

pretty good effort!! must of taken you ages to get all those holes to line up. as a product its not very saleable as acrylic is a brittle material and you wouldnt be able to see any of the text on the mixer in a djing environment, for a personal diy mixer job though id be pretty happe with those results
