Got Stanton t62s myself, they're a bit cheaper than the t90s, and they've got what you need to start off, so they're a good choice :)

they are starter decks so they arent going to be great...everyone starts somewhere though
to be honest because those are better than some of the starter decks, for the prices you are paying there you could be picking up a full set on ebay...

Off the bat, my advice is to stay away from those who say that there are no alternatives to Technics 1200s. There are plenty of turntables out there that have all the power of the Technics, and won't cost the average ~250 USD a used Technics cost.
That said, you can find the following turntables online for dirt cheap, and you can't go wrong with either one of them:
Stanton STR8-80 ~120 USD
Stanton STR8-100 ~130 USD
Numark TTX ~150 USD
The only huge difference between the Stanton's and the Numarks (as far as I can tell) is the torque speed. The Numarks pull off around 3.7 kg-cm while the Stantons only put out about 2.2 kg-cm. To compare, the Technics only puts out 1.6 kg-cm, so either way you're winning in that department.
I think most people would agree that with the right slipmat, torque really is a non issue, so either one of these will do the job effectively. I personally am trying to hunt down a pair of Numark TTX's myself.

technics, reliable direct drives, i believe. they'll last you years mate, YEARS! numarks are a no go since they're belt drives. it makes beat matching harder unless you have brilliant matts..

The TTX models? They are definitely direct drive
http://www.zzounds.com/item--NUMTTX1 That is the older model but the one afterwards also follows suit. Forgot to say, stay away from the TTX1's. That 1 may not seem like it makes a difference but I've heard horror stories of the motor dying out from faulty heatsinks.

i think acidflux was refering to the ones that he(atomsk) posted, im sure he realises that not all numarks are belt drives lol - though its good advice to stear clear of belt drive at the start, even if they are cheap!
as for TTX1's that probably was with a few of the first editions - a pair of which i owned, and never had any probablys with at all, and i even dropped an entire glass of champaign on one of them AND moved countrys with it, 5 years still no problems.
im on my second set of them now, which again, im pretty sure are 1st edition models, got these again just because i sold my last pair when i moved back from the states (couldnt be bothered to pay for them to come back with me, so just took my vinyl!)
rugged, solid, sound great, absolute pleasure to play on!
but yeah - in reply to another post, gotta watch out for those turntable nazi's, they are a dying breed (just like CDJ haters when they first popped up), but my god are they fierce! like someone just insulted the size of their manhood! lol

LOL, don't get caught up in the numbers
The Technics work 100 times better than the other decks you mentioned. Way better off spending a bit more for the Technics since you'll never have to upgrade again.

*toots the turntable nazi fanfare on a trumpet* ;)
Technics 1210's are the only decks worth buying....in the same sort of sense that bread is the only thing worth eating :)

Personally i own a pair of numark TT500's and they are great TT's for beginners. They are a bit more expensive then the ones your looking at, but they are worth the price, no complaints here.

I'd only buy those used
Anything Direct Drive and newer than 10 years old should be fine to learn on.

I started on TT200's and would recommend them, they're direct drive and great to learn on
If you can then go for Technics though, they are the best
