that happens alot with me, when i say something about hhc they say something like "its called hardcore music, not happy hardcore"
i get mad, i dont even try to explain to them, so i just say its "rave" music
so yes i get pissed alot to =b

Here's what I've gathered when people say the wrong terms for EDM,
Techno: A douchebag (or when I heard a DJ called that when THE MUSIC HE'S ****ING MIXING WAS DRUM N BASS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!) a complete moron.
Trance: A noob / uneducated listener.
House: An idiot who thinks he knows what he's saying.
Hard Dance: Someone who's afraid to say Happy Hardcore
Electronica: Foaming at the mouth wanna snap this ****ing guy's neck so angry RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!

If someone says Techno, i'm going to assume they mean the electronic music genre Techno. Its not my job to teach people to use the words the speak properly. Although if they use them so wrong that its not possible they mean Techno, then i ask them if they are misusing the word.

This topic has been brought up so many times. You just need to chill out and not care wether or not people like let alone give a shit enough about the music you listen to to name it correctly. If they Techno to refer to any electronic music, then they don't really like it anyway so it dosn't really make any difference what they call it.

its almost the same situation, people ask me what im listening to, i say either UK Hardcore or Happy Hardcore, then they usually say, "Is that like techno or something?" >=( GRRR!!!!

i think i've seen like 3 threads like this already, but i used to call it electronica. in fact that is what it used to be called in the 90s
but now it's EDM, which i think is better b/c ppl understand it better than electronica
but yea just correct them and that's it u can't b mad bout it.

i just call it dance music...no need for the E part lol, everybody knows what dance music is in england, its even the first genre listed on national radio one's google results
