"the happening" i felt extremely depressed after watching it and realising that over two hours of my life had been completely wasted.

yes i agree! i was more depressed that i didn't spend the $10 more wisely!
Titanic??? that movie was not depressing at all! it was just bad acting on leo's part!
I think castaway is a little depressing, only because he comes from death kind of only to discover that his girlfriend married his dentist

Over 2 hours of Zooey Deschanel??? I'm buying the DVD ASAP.
Anyway, from the top of my head: Hotel Rwanda, Lupaus, Maria Full of Grace and Trade. All of those are based on real life one way or the other.

Can't say i have one. I avoid depressing looking films. If i'm watching a film that's boring i'll just turn it off.

I think i originally found Donnie darko depressing because i couldnt understand the movie at all for some time.
Reqiuem for a dream made me feel like complete shit by the end of it, especailly when you've seen someone **** their life up like that.
Kids was just ****ing sad, imo. Just really sad.
With titanic, the only part i found depressing was when the expensive jewelry was thrown over board, hahaha , weird right!

Ooh, right down my alley!
I think my most depressing films must be:
- Eraserhead
- Mulholland Drive
- Ringu (Original Japanese version of 'The Ring')
- Full Metal Jacket
- A Clockwork Orange
- American History X
- Donnie Darko
- Les Amants du Pont Neuf (Lovers of the North Bridge)
- El Labyrintho del Fauno (Pan's Labyrinth)
- The Green Mile
- El Orphanato (The Orphanage)

Australia...
Worst part was I watched it in Japan, everyone in the audience was crying when Japan attacked Australia, being the only white guy in the movie house made me feel really weird.
