Convinced of what?
I think it could have been the most disastrous even the world have faced in the history of pandemies. Luckly enough, the virus isnt that deadly.

Personally i think its a load of over hyped media bollox like the hospital bugs...
if you go on http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/Sat/Topics/ColdsAndFlu.aspx?Host=Nhsd&SyndicationPartnerGuid=d19370ea-a100-407d-9695-b73407f701c7&TopicGuid=8c903315-a302-412a-bfae-9cb576d4b4cd and do the symptoms test, if you answer yes to the do you live in an infected area a question then it tells you to call for an ambulance. doctors are making diagnoses over the fone (which should be illegal) basically if you have symptoms of normal flu, you get that tamiflu stuff for swine flu.. its a crock of shite

Here i have to disagree, the danger it could have posessed was immense. When Mexico was hit, it was still unsure and IMO the media was spot on, on reporting it in a bit hyped way.
Now that we know its not as dangerous as feared, the media at least here are just reporting that over 20% of people here will get infected, and aprocs 2000 will die cause of it. Which isnt that much for a flu. And their saying that it doesnt differ from seasonal flu. Some hospitals have already stopped testing people for it, cause its already so widely spread.

Yes, but deadly pandemies have and will happen. How dangerous they will be is immpossible to predict. A disease that could wipeout half of human race isnt something that we shouldnt play safe IMO.

of course its media BS, the fricking Beeb are trying to make you look away because the license fee is FINALLY coming under the proper spotlight
http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/jul/16/bbc-licence-fee-select-committee they're scared shitless that zombie-england will come out of its shell and tell them where to shove their £140 tax a year **edit** im not trying to downplay swineflu at all - my annoyance stems from the way the UK media have handled, and continue to handle it. the expenses scandel ran out of steam, so whats next on the agenda to whore.

I'll hold my judgment until this years flu season comes about...
hospital bugs are something you should care about. there are a lot of hospital employees who work around patients who are lazy & surly and don't really seem to care about their job hence forth making things like mrsa & c. diff a constant problem.
about 1 in 22 people staying at a hospital will get a nosocomial infection
