Lol, thanks

That was an interesting arto to play on, to say the least. No knobs on any faders, quiet monitor with half second delay, etc

Still managed to drop like 30 tracks in an hour though. I'm looking forward to playing in the main room in August, it was pretty wild when I played up there last year! Djm800 makes all the difference!

Meh, I don't produce cause I want to be in the top tier. I produce hardcore cause I like it.

Who cares if you get "mainstream" doing it?! I don't give a shit what happens.

Its about the music isn't it?

Ino what your saying dain-ja but its got fuk all to do with how to become a millionare. im terrbiyl sorry if mainstream was the wrong word to use. What i really mant was to make a living out of it to be able to pay for your piss up and bills, along with the love of hardore.

Its just nice to know peoples thought sof how to break into the hardcore scene as it is relatively difficult, although defo possible with the right amount of work and devotion!

and frost wot you on about making you dissapointed...***** go for it.. if you love hardcore you will do it no matter what.

"Cdjay isn't included because his opinion is actually somewhat valid."

It deseves quoting. In every thread.

good point. It's just hard for me because I don't know anyone that actually likes hardcore in my area. But I guess I'll just have to start and see who pops out of the woodwork.

can u clarify what exactly you mean by this?

It's unfortunate you see it that way Jester and I don't blame you because that is what the Toronto scene has become. In the last three years politics have taken control of the local scene. Trust, as someone who was a part of the scene for so long I know how it is up there and what's it has become. I know for fact though that with any known international DJ/Producer that's not the case. If you get some random UK headliner though... that's when you should question it. Sc@r and Uplift are anything but random.

oh jeeze. misunderstood but its my fault i shouldnt have put down the statement, thought id gotten away with it lol. Sc@r and Uplift are not random headliners for toronto or the northeast sea board of the us. i believe Sc@r AND uplift are in NYC for Candyball in a couple of weeks. but perhaps i should back track.because that's my point..all i meant, and no harm or disrespect was intended, was that a way for talent in Toronto specifically (i say this at the top of my post) and i have had many conversations with promoters in toronto who agree, that a or THE way to get booked over seas and therefore in my train of events the way to getting bigger to the top of the genre, is to first start booking UK and abroad, talented mid to upper level DJ's/Producers/Promoters, and eventually after a few parties the 'favor' is returned either through a booking, or colaberation of some sort. Where you, Sc@r, and Uplift come in, is that you two possibly Impact, and definetly and Luna-C as far as i see it, are the only people of the mentioned postition, who are booked in toronto or the North East sea board more than just once and we never see or hear from them again, eg. unknown or ufo. Pretty much thats all i meant but the inclination is definetly present that i assume because of this that you are being brought over strictly to be buddy buddy with the promoters who brought you here, for them to use you to get bigger. for that i apolagize as i have done my home work, and if we talk about the last 4 times that i have been able to see you live, it's 4 different promoters, although the fact that 2 of them are week apart and the 2 promoters happened to be dating at the time, sorta prooves a point about how knowing people helps, but its a slightly different topic.

i did say that i have and in capital letters AND in your quote of my post no real evidence and its not worth hijacking the thread, as well as a good natured lol, which i hoped would show the joking nature of my point.
for the record im actually a great big fan, i was mixing and mcing to your tracks just today so please come back to toronto again! maybe in a few months one of the companies i share will be able to afford ya, then i'll make friends with you and then...no..wait nvm im getting carried away lol (see just jokin)

anyway. milo i know you get what i mean about toronto, but i did say in my origonal post i dont think its how it should be just how i see it and it IS unfortunate, and i hope im dead wrong.

i will continue to work hard and push hardcore regardless, these forums sometimes bring out the rant in my thats all... clearly

hope that clears it up and i hope you werent upset or offended by the comment.

I would have to disagree with that from a Uk based artist and seeing mine and my fiances name was mentioned I think i deserve to reply lol.
Yes we have had the privilidge to perform in canada a number of times and over that period we have devoloped some amazing friendships, not always in the same genre as well Xbass and destructo and opel are three of my close friends they dont even play hardcore. I dont belive in the 'book me and i will book you' thing, A line up should be chosen on talent and interest for the ravers. But sorry to dispoint any promoters out there who did want to do the 'return the favour' thing because everyone knows I dont promote, i also dont believe it in the 'put on a party to get bookings for ones self'.
Also just to make things clear as well - Imapct and Luna-c both live in america now as well.

My advice to everyone whos wants tips on who to promote yourself - If you want to get alot of gigs its about working your fkn arse off! no easier way to put it! I put my whole heart and soul into what I do. my routine is three radio shows a week, writing articles for core magazine, producing, djing out every weekend and trying to manage a label on top of all that I do actually work a full time job as a registered nurse and manage to have a social life. You gotta be out there, doing the shows, and the all the mix demos etc and not ever give up. Its the only way to breakthrough. If you get international bookings then its a major bonus and a great experience, somthing I totally recommend but its also isnt somthing that comes automatically! everything needs to be worked for!
