What's bad about it? All that matters is that you like the song.

So you don't like any Brisk or Dougal tracks? And you don't like Styles' earlier stuff? Or Stormtrooper's early stuff?
Nearly every successful engineer/producer in the hardcore scene started by using engineers.
There's a certain freedom I like about producing by myself but I don't see anything wrong with using engineers. You're still the one writing (well, you should be), the engineer is just doing the more technical stuff or polishing your work.

Either way, the most important thing should be the end product. Why would you not want a song to sound it's best? It's not just about the producers, but the people who are going to hear it aswel; what does it matter to them how the song was produced as long as it sounds good? It's not a matter of originality or not, it's just about getting the most you can from the song.

engineers are a godsend for people like me who have something to write, but don't have all the in-depth and complicated know-how when it comes to more technical sound engineering. I don't see anything wrong with them, especially when someone awesome like orbit1 is engineering a track.

fair enough, everyone has their own opinions. if you had a engineer you can work alongside well with it is a great way to learn to produce. Im not ashamed to admit I use engineers though I am trying writing my own work. Over the past year I have worked with fracus, vagabound and joey riot. I have learnt so much, usually I write what I can, lay out my track etc and take it to them and they go through through what ive done and give me tips on how to improve it and what im doing wrong. Plus it also gives a taste on wether producing is for you or not. I love it but it is a great way to learn!

It dosn't matter what you do as long as the result sounds good, if that means using an engineer or 10 engineers then who gives a crap! Also yes it's infinately better to learn that way then being self taught (for most people). Your not going to instantly dislike a song the second you find out it infact is the work of 5 people instead of 1 are you? If it sounds good it sounds good!
