Hello, long time since last :)

Saw this offering while browsing another site, and thought "bummer, I can't use this offer myself, only for UK. So why not help Brits know about this offer?"

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.206-3928.aspx

"If you're a brit and in need of a cheap copy of Windows 7 then its bargain day for the UK today.

Tesco is currently offering Windows 7 Home Premium for £49.97, coupled with a discount code from the folks at HotUKdeals, you can get the full edition of Windows 7 Home Premium for £44.97 delivered.

Here's how:
Visit the Tesco listing
add to basket
checkout
use voucher code TDX-SFFT

Source: http://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/09/13/bargain-windows-7-home-premium-full-edition-for-45-uk

I myself am using the Release Candidate and I can say this Windows is the best I've ever used. :) (trying not to make it sound like a commercial).

I'm debating whether to actually get 7 or stick with XP.

Currently dual booting XP, and Ubuntu 8.04.

Heard good things about 7, interface is like Vista, but overall more user friendly, and easier to use. What I've heard, haven't had any chance to use it.

There's nothing hard to use or bad about vista. I'm a gamer running vista, which is supposedly even worse when you're a gamer. Don't believe all the stupid propaganda. Vista is fine, so if it's better than vista, then it's a hell of a lot better than XP.

I never liked Vista, not from day one.

It's not hard, no. But it's not down right easy to get simple things done, either. Something they're trying to fix in 7.

Plus Windows is spewing crap about Linux, that is completely false. So my distaste for them is greater.

Despite that the new taskbar still feels like a WIP (functionality-wise, not visually), 7 is spectacular compared to XP. It is, in short, what Vista should have been...

50 pounds is nothing to sneeze at if you ask me. Although if you can't get to the deal in time, or want a different version, you can always buy an OEM copy off of a site like Newegg, Scan, Ebuyer, Novatech, Aira, Overclockers, etc. for a much lower price than for retail copies.

This is true.

I've been using Windows since 95, but I didn't like Vista much. Even after all the updates I'm still not liking it too much.

Plus their campaigns to completely bash any other OS is just starting to get outrageous.

Apparently being 90% of all OS on the planet, and having the most market share isn't enough. Got...to...have...MORE!!

Hmmm.

Going to need to try it one of these days. I'll abuse my friends power at Best Buy and get a copy.

Already did, rather not.

I want the paid full copy.

As much as I despise Microsoft sometimes, I'm not into stealing.

People don't spend hundreds of hours making something for someone to just steal it. Not into that, brah!

Been using Windows since 3.11, and I can say Windows 7 is the best one of them all! :) You can obtain a Release Candidate Serial from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/get/download.aspx
Click on the download, it will say RC download not available, but you'll get your Serial*

And then download the RC from "somewhere else" ;) To download the RTM (the one Rayovac linked to) is illegal, RC is not.

It is faster than Vista on my laptop, faster than XP on our home computer.

*Hotmail/Windows Live/Xbox Live address needed.

Was kidding in that last post. Guess I should have made it more blunt.

I'm not into stealing either, but all of the shit Microsoft consistently pulls just pisses me off royally. What they do goes far beyond bashing other operating systems for inane reasons. Guess that makes me a hypocrite.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

But, I'm still really against stealing anything really.

Even if it IS Microsoft we're talking about.
