Liverpool are similar to Arsenal.....they are going backwards.
You think Arsenal are going backwards? lol no
When Wenger goes and Fabregas goes back to Spain they will not be the same team.
Arsenal just dont have the money to keep up, they can afford one player costing around £10 million per transfer window, its not enough imo.
I dont know where their goals come from because apart from Van Persie, their frontline is gash
Wenger will be there for a long time yet as will Fabregas, even if Fabregas goes he's replaceable anyway. When we played without him last season we won every game if I remember correctly and we had I think a 17 game unbeaten run and that was without Fabregas.
As for money Wenger said that there is only 3 players he couldn't afford, those players being most likely Messi, Ronaldo & Ribery.
And how the hell can you say the frontline is gash? I'd take Arshavin, Van Persie, Rosicky, Eduardo, Nasri & Walcott over Torres & Kuyt anyday.
Rosicky and Nasri cannot be classed as strikers, Arshavin isnt either really.
Eduardo is massively over-rated
Bendtner would be better at a club like Hull
Walcott and Van Persie are damn good, but Walcott will never have a 20 goal season imo
Torres is worth 2 of any of them, Kuyt isnt so much an out and out striker anymore. But if you are including Nasri and Rosicky in the 'frontline' then Liverpool's must include Gerrard and Aquillani, who are both better than Nasri and Rosicky.
Liverpool have a problem with Riera, Lucas, N'gog and players like that, none of them belong in the premier league. N'gog wouldnt get a game at any top flight team.
For the record, I really dont care about either team though, just my opinion, but opinions are like *******s.....everyone has one. and Nobody will agree on football unless you support the same team, so its an irrelavent arguement really.

Redwingz raises a good point about Liverpool - no strength in depth. N'Gog, Babel and Lucas just aren't good enough for a club of Liverpool's standing. I actually like Riera as a player, I think he's got excellent footballing ability. However, he really needs to start showing it, or else he should be shown the door. That fat right-back (I've forgotten his name) should be punted as well.
The 4-2-3-1 worked last year, mainly because of Alonso's range of passing. Without Alonso in there, it just doesn't work. A change of approach is needed, at least until Aquilani is fit again. Even then, he probably won't be able to play in that system the way Alonso did.
It's alarming the rate that Liverpool are conceding at given that they were defensively strong last year. I think most of this can be attributed to Alonso's loss as well. He took a massive amount of pressure off the defence by retaining possession.
As for Arsenal - they are several players short of an excellent squad too. They have some excellent standout players (Van Persie, Arshavin, Fabregas) but also have some pretty average players (Diaby, Bendtner, Song). I rate Walcott very highly, but the boy is made of glass. He's always injured.

Yeah I know, I just meant the frontline overall as Rosicky & Nasri & Arshavin are wingers, but both Nasri & Arshavin can play as 2nd strikers.
As for Eduardo being overrated, I wouldn't say that as some of the goals he scores are immense, he is probably one of the best finishers in the league. And he was fighting it out with Adebayor to be in the starting 11 before he got injured.
Agree on Bendtner bur he's slowly improving, should still get rid though.
Don't really know much about Aquilani but to say that he's better than both Nasri & Rosicky without even playing a single Premier League match is pretty stupid.

As a life long Liverpool supporter I have to say I really don't know what's going wrong. Alonso going was a big loss, no doubt about it, but we should still be able to compete with the squad we have. However, when will Benitez learn that Lucas is a pile of shite????
Also I know Jamie has been getting a lot of flack but I don't believe it's entirely his fault. I think with Johnson being so attacking it's leaving big gaps at the back and Jamie's left to pick up the pieces :-/
And as much as Benitez baffles me with his decisions I find it hard to criticise him, he has brought the club on a long way. This is the first time we have gone backward since he's been at the club, and there's still time for us to come good yet, although we do need to strengthen the club if this is to happen.
It is worrying that we apparently won't have any money to spend till 2012 :-(
