So the year is drawing to an end. For me this year has been very disappointing in the way of hardcore tracks. I'll struggle to find 10 that I've liked. So what's everyone's top tracks of 09?
1) Shimamura - SX
2) Shimamura - Bring The Noize
3) DJ Stormtrooper - On The Run
4) Darwin - Electric Pulse drive

Sharkey, Odyssey & Arkitech - Black Rain
Phaze4 - You're Never Gonna Know (Scott Brown Remix)
Joey Riot – Ready 2 Go

Looking back over the year not many tunes stand out but the few that do for me, in no particular order, are;
Devastate - Mood Music (Oli G Remix)
Endymion - Abduction
Bang! - Flower Needs The Rain (Al Storm Remix)
Michael Mansion - Let Me In (Darwin Remix)
Cube::Hard - In The Moment
Barley Ft Taya - Falling
Darwin & Entity - Moving Over
Non Core;
Shimamura - Hold You Now
Zarif & Danny Byrd - California
DJ Fresh Ft Stamina MC & Koko - Hypercaine
Fourward - Lucid Dream
Mt Eden - There For You
Nneka - Heartbeat (Chase & Status Mix)
La Roux - In For The Kill (Scream Remix)
Tbh my main listening has been outside Hardcore. Dubstep and D&B are brilliant atm but i'd be here all day naming stand out tunes from both so i'll leave it at that.
It's true Hardcore hasn't been great in some ways this year, but in some has been amazing. HU putting out 2(!) of the best compilations in Hardcore for a very long time, perhaps ever, as welll as a number of absolutely, brilliant vinyl releases, swiftly followed by digital releases.
A number of digi labels starting up, including NSR and Re-Build, with NSR making moves in the direction away from being just another digi label with a very cool compilation (which i will get round to reviewing properly soon Craig, sorry it's been so long already mate )
Podcasts pretty much everywhere you look and of course Kutski making serious waves on Radio1, even featuring on Zane Lowe's prime time slot in a "battle of the DJs" i do believe.
All in all not a bad year i'd say.
