Some may remember my swimming dilemma a month back.
Since then, I've swam in 2 gala's for my current team, Halstead. In those gala's I was very satisfied with my swims., thus increasing my commitment to the club.
Here are my gala results:
31/10/09
James Gibson Development Gala:
50m Backstroke:
1st Place
00:32:69
Personal Best
100m Freestyle:
1st Place
00:59:81
Seasons Best
7/11/09
Dettori Trophy
200m IM (4x50m - 50m Butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m breastroke, 50m Freestyle):
2nd Place
02:34:50
Personal Best
100m Freestle:
1st Place
00:58:75
Seasons Best
Here's a Youtube Video of my swim I swam just 3 hours ago:
I'm on the nearest lane.
Newest twist my swimming tale is that I'm embedded in a good united team. The team has allot of spirit and thats evident by the constant "Go On Olly!!"'s. Today I also got a text sying the entry forms to the new club; Sudbury are ready for me.
I need time to think.
Also, tonights gala was amidst a huge Synthwulf - Eternal Knot obsession. The track motivated me into 2 great swims :)

Thanks people :)
Its nice to see myself swimming because now I can see what is exactly wrong with it all, and what is right.
I was surprised at how much my legs work! In training the bloody things float and trail behind me, in races they're ****ing insane :O
I love nice surprised. I'm generally pretty skinny, so I could also have allot of power generated from my arms if I did more weight-training.
In the water it was fun. I wasn't interested in other people, and swam my own race. That's why I kept my breathing to my right every 2 strokes. Eventually I had gained open-water (where no one else was near me) which was a nice feeling. I never really built up any lactic acid until the last half length where I didn't breathe for a last burst of speed. It was a fun night really. B grade gala's always more fun. No one takes themselves seriously and we can have a laugh and some chips afterwards. Its when people get psyched in the A team that things get serious and very competitive. That's why I felt over September I was on my way out. I had swam too slowly and lost my spot for swimming in the national league. This 58 swim should hopefully put me back in contention!
