Are you Scottish? I'm guessing the Scotts didn't call it Bouncy Techno in the same way that the Dutch don't call their Hardcore Gabber.

Yeh im Scottish m8 and yes it was never called Bouncy Techno
it wasn`t till a few years back i herd it when i thought i would check out the scene again
so i looked it up and saw it referred to Scottish Hardcore and i was like....ok then first iv herd
Dutch Hardcore was mostly just called Hardcore also...we where aware of the term Gabba
but was mostly just called Hardcore or Dutch Hardcore
Probably because it was so popular here and at times more popular than any other
we kind of accepted it as our own...and dj`s producers etc incorporated it into Scottish Hardcore

it was reffered to as bouncy techno back in the day in scotland. just look at any old rez flyer.
i used to go out every week in the mid 90s and people regularly called it that out and about and in the media (clubscene, m8 mag)
rezerection event 5 flyer springs to mind where they describe the music in each arena.

yeh it might have been by the media or dj`s etc
but apart from that i only ever herd it being called Hardcore or Happy Hardcore
i had never asked someone to put on some Bouncy Techno
im only going by what it was like for me at that time
and Bouncy Techno was definately not what it was known for in my experience anyway

I think Kraftwerk are the only people who can get away with it Brian. I was going to mention them myself actually but couldn't be bothered.

Saw Orbital at Global Gathering This year. Was a dream come true, since I was about the age of 12 I have wanted to see them.
Also The NEC still do live PAs as a group and most of them induvidually.

I guess it is hard to do. But it's done often with house and electro type acts. I've seen Sneaky Sound System, Pnau and Cut Copy.
I think it pays of for a rave act to play live. Scooter have sold 30,000,000 albums worldwide. Probably more than any other dance artist in history and they are strictly on the harder side of dance music.
