you suggest video replay and they cry "But the tradition... culture... think of the children... it just wouldnt be the same"

Video replay is just in just about every other sport. soccer is still in the stone ages.

I would have it like american football. Each team gets so many challenges...if something doesnt go your way, you can use a challenge to get a video replay

Video replays SHOULD be used, but the powers that be are far too afraid to use them. In short, they blindly back their officials and feel that using video technology would undermine them. Referees can make very, very costly mistakes. It's high time that FIFA, UEFA etc recognised this.

They are, however, quite correct in refusing to allow the match to be replayed. If it was, then a very, very dangerous and undesirable precedent would have been set.

There's no way to describe how hard it is to accept this is. People from strong football playing countries cant understand what its like for us. We had them! Those lads went out and gave it everything they had and the French team knew they were had. And then right at the end for Henry to just blatantly cheat like that is a ****ing joke!

What does that say to the young Irish team? Even if you give it your all the big countries will win anyway! And all this about a replay is ********! FIFA got what they wanted, France are through, and thats all they care about. Ireland never should have even had to play France.

Its a disgrace the whole thing!

I'm with Roy Keane... Ireland can maintain their questionable goals and penalties (like georgia) and then expect france to give up their win for a replay.. Football needs newer technology to judge stuff the human eye can't see...

Pendro Mendes 1-0 Man Utd was a clear shout for that, but each instance is ignored..
