Not about the money it's about shops being twats and breaking the law. Can understand you not being arsed though but everyone ends up thinking that and the gits get away with it time after time. :(
Perhaps ring and threaten to take action under the 1994 amendment to the sale of goods act if they don’t take it back and see what they say.
Good call not getting the speakers from them though!

When MASIF HARDCORE 2008 was released in Australia, Amato were going to be our UK distributor. When you release an album with them they require 300 PROMO COPIES to send to retail etc to get orders. That's the stage we got to with Amato before they went down (lucky we didn't send them the 5k units they wanted!)...
They've obviously sold EVERYTHING to HTFR in their offices who are onselling what they've bought.
These copies were NEVER meant for sale. Only for getting orders from retail. It sucks that no one benefits from their sale either, the artists don't get anything, the label doesn't, and you the consumer get an inferior product.
I'm sorry to hear this has happened to you...and it disappoints me that people have benefited from, and continue to benefit from this CD in this way - they definitely should be advertising these are PROMO burnt copies...and preferably not even selling them at all.
Official copies of the album are available from the Masif Ebay store or www.masif.org (both with FREE international postage).
Look out for official copies of MASIF HARDCORE 2010 when it comes out...

Must admit, Im a bit gutted.
Steve: Any news on who will be mixing that album? Perhaps I could send them some tracks for consideration :)

I dont think he could really arrange a refund, he's just the spokesperson/maybe producer. Its the store that should be taken to task over refunding. Imagine telling Metallica you didnt like the quality of their last album and want a refund, what do you think their response will be? I work at a music store. We can and may even have to do returns. Saying they can't take it back is a load of crap. you may have to pay for postage though. If you still have the receipt, ram it as far up their ass as it will reach. Take em down.

I'm sorry redwingz is in this situation - like I feel sorry that all the legitimate artists / producers / labels involved with this CD benefit NOTHING from the sale of these copies...the only beneficiary is whoever at Amato sold the copies and HTFR themselves...
We guarantee official copies bought from our online stores...and Masif's distributor for official copies from retail outlets...these aren't official copies...
I'll be sending an e-mail to HTFR to either try and have them removed from sale or at the very least make them advertise these are not official copies because right now they are misleading customers...

In no way was this post a dig at Masif or anyone else involved, as I understand its not your fault. Its HTFR who are the culprits as its false advertisement imo.
Ill makesure i get 2010 from elsewhere :)

NEVER Shop @ Hard To Find. They're all a bunch of useless tossers. I used to shop with them years ago. They messed up almost every order i placed with them. Then i heard even worse things about them over the www.

interesting, ive never had problems with them - that said, ive only put in two orders with them in the past
i tore through their sale stuff and picked up like...20 records i was after for about a tenner - which was good
then for my birthday my wife got me one of their pre-packs of 50 random dance records
was very very happy with it
got about 25 pieces in it i liked kept, the rest i just sold on and made all the money back! lol
ton of music i would have never heard had i not been bought that pack too! :)
