Floods.

I've gotten away pretty lucky though, with my house practically being on a mountain and all but this video doesn't show half the devastation it caused. I've never seen anything like it.

No school til they can turn back on the water though so how bad

Dear God

I never realised how devastating flooding could be like its incredible! I'm on a hill as well so all I have to put up with is no water but the river Lee goes straight through Cork City center so it caused major chaos like. And an underground car park of a hotel got completely submerged.

More to come this week apparently.

Are those photos recent? From this week like?

yeah they were taken on thursday (19th)

ill put my pics up for comparison as soon as the water has completely gone back to normal

was pretty funny, it started getting high toward the begining of last week and i was genuinely shocked because the river had traveled all the way up and was covering halfway up the handrails

then on thursday i got into work...and you couldnt even see the handrailings! haha (like i said, pics will follow)

my whole family basically used to live there, and still does a little bit! o'niell is the family name if you've heard of that :P

my grandma would not stop talking for weeks if she knew i was talking to someone who knew castetown-roch(e)*, i dont know what she'd do if you knew the family as well.. but i think it would involve some sort of bleeding from the ears or things of that sort..

Well lucky for your grandmothers ears I dont think I know the family It is worth noting that of all the popular family names in Ireland, O' Neill would be a pretty popular one

I wouldn't know many up there like. I have been there before though. Have you ever been there?

Agreed!

I live on a main road, and there's literally three street drains within walking distance to keep water away, and my back yard is a hill slightly, and my drive way is on an angle. So water usually just runs away from my house.
