I know in the US there are some public access radio that you can get time slots on. Then it is legal and you don't have to worry about getting caught or even going to jail.
So maybe there are some there too. If there are I would search for them. They will give you time for free!
in Perth ? why not call it PPEM. (Perth Pure Eletronic Music) just an idea :)

i've heard if you broadcast off a boat they can't do you. driving around in a car's good but a bit cramped obviously. if i was you i'd get a free liscense (is live 365 free?) so you cant get banged up.
If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

Basically if they catch you everything music related they will take from you, computers, all the DJ equipment, records... you name it... don't get caught...
As for the boat that doesn't work unless your in international waters and I believe international waters for Australia is 300KM's, so thats impossible....

i think there's something called a scrambler which somehow stops your station getting traced. out local station love 100 had one but they still got found out.
silver said "Basically if they catch you everything music related they will take from you, computers, all the DJ equipment, records... you name it..." well i dunno about over there but here in the uk they will only confiscate anything they find connected to the transmitter,so if you hear the five-o banging on your door UNPLUG ANYTHING GOING INTO THE TRANSMITTER!! then they got no proof of you broadcasting :P
it worked with love 100,all the took is the transmitter and scrambler when they got raided last :D

You'ld be better off setting up an online radio station mate, you can do live bordcasts or just upload mp3s and it'll save you buying equipment and stuff all you need to do is hook your moxer up to your PC. Live365.com allows you to easily set up a station but it's not free any longer...monthly charge or something i think!

if you ask me live365 sux. you used to have 365mb of space for nothing, now you gotta pay at least $10 a month for 100 megs!
i ditched it for shoutcast, all you need is fast internet, winamp,be able to hook your decks to the line in on your pc and you're away

There's no way you can run a station without getting caught unless you broadcast from a vehicle like a van or something. I don't know about that unplugging thing as I expect the police would confiscate anything which they believe may have been used in the broadcast. The best way to run an internet station is using the shoutcast plugin for winamp. Live 365 is crap and I dont know if it is free anymore. With shoutcast you can wire your decks up to your computer and spin the records live or when you cant be bothered dj ing you could get it to play a load of mp3's. But who knows, maybe they'll start clamping down on that too. This is all because some people want music to be a product. I think a real musician would want people to hear their music no matter what but the greedy businessman has always been on the scene. Anyway veryone knows most hardcore producers are not real musicians, most of them can't even play live let alone play a real instrument. The computer does 99% of the work for them.

well i can safely say i can play the guitar, keyboard, bass guitar and a bit of drums.
it's not being able to play an instrument that counts,it's knowing about music that leads to success

Exactly, You need to know your music. Sure, I could grab a loop program and randomly put together loops to make a song.. does it mean it's good. Hell no. Knowing your music, and knowing what goes together well is the key to sucess.
Thus, they are musicians.
