it seems to me that myspace is a huge network which can be resumed in this sentence:

The place where everybody wants to be heard, but nobody wants to listen other's work

seems like everyone is trying so hard to be the next star... is kind of sad
just look at any "up and coming" artist and read its comments, since most of his friends are also producers all you will find is stuff like this:

"check out my new tune!"
"new track: Check it and buy here: "
"New Release Available "
"Enjoy my new promo mix cd download."
"FREE DOWNLOAD!!!!"
"WANT TO DOWLOAD ALBUMS?? copy and paste links DONT BE LAZY!!!"

etc etc etc,

spam comes and spam goes, and the funny part is that I dont think ANYBODY is checking all those links and tracks becuase they are too busy sending their own spam!!!

and its pretty much the same with all the other networks, youtube, facebook, etc.

What do you guys think of this?

in all seriousness tho, fb is becomin no different than myspace. only difference is that you thankfully u can't bling out your profile and it's easier to block ppl from seein certain things, even after you are friends with them. also artists are utilizing fb fan/like pages as they would have on myspace, and i c it working.

*got picture to work now

I agree and myspace seems very dead these days. Everyone is moving to Soundcloud which is great IMO. Lots of people leave comments on there and I've had 0 spam. It's just much easier to listen to everyones tracks and leave feedback there.

Its always been like that, facebook use to be like that with spam till the cut down on it, myspace was first made for dating and bands not a social network a few years back then i changed into this for the kiddys.

It really dosent bother me, as long as they dont do it to everones pages, some of the artists are good and worth a listen...

And idk why, but "choonland??"'s siggy makes me laugh at this topic :b

Facebook took over myspace long ago, no one uses myspace anymore. I think that anyone that cares enough about promoting themselves will do what they need to get it done properly. Ultimately myspace etc is just free, there is only so much you can get/expect for free.

Myspace died along time ago, not that i ever properly got to grips with it. It always seemed to run slow as hell on my Pc's. Especially with all the stupid flash shite people had on there pages. If your advertising music it should be simple and quick loading. Like AW said, soundcloud is the future for showing off your musical talents....

Me either.

I don't think it ever took off in the UK properly. Bebo was by far the most popular here and even that's shutting down soon. Bebo should have never sold out, I think it would have still been top had it not. Facebook is the top now and I hate Facebook with a passion, I only use it because my friends rarely use MSN anymore.

I get about 4 spam emails a day off people on soundcloud.

Such and such abody shared his track with 2146 people. And Im lucky enough to be one of those???? NO THANKS. If people want to send demos they can do it the old fashioned way imo. I never listen to tracks emailed to me by soundcloud, I go on soundcloud in my own time and look at peoples pages.
