Darren Styles himself is no problem at all, it's the 100's of people who have imitated him over the years that are awful.

...Yet again, the man seems to have picked up a lot of steam with his latest productions! The stuff we have been teased with on the forums recently, such as Higher Ground, Breathe Again or Symphonic, all sounds epic and very well crafted. hmmmmmm, alright ive been proven wrong. I like them all except for Breath Again.....i might actually buy his next album

Darren styles is a great artist, the proof is the fact that nearly half the songs that people consider hardcore "anthems" involve darren styles, either alone or with mark breeze and a couple with dj force. The bottom line is, I really wish everyone would stop posing and just admit that they like mainstream music, that's how it gets so ****ing popular. Of course I realize that some people simply don't like styles, it just doesn't sound good to them. But I absolutely refuse to believe that in a community this large there's really that many people who don't like the guy and what he produces when 90% of the rest of the EDM world loves his music. For instance, Bonkers4Life said he hates everything styles has ever done. Then someone points out that his old shit was good and he agrees, then someone points out that his new shit is alright and he agrees, if that's not smoke blowing I know absolutely nothing about children in social situations....

I only agreed to a few selections of his new stuff.....i still hate his old stuff. When did i agree that his old stuff was good?

Well Styles is one of the greatest Hardcore artists of all time. Teamed with Force he did the best Hardcore there was in 1997 onwards etc. And in the 2000's still one of the best. I don't like what he's been doing for the last few years but it is nonetheless well produced music. The problem is all the people that copy his sound and other big name sounds and just perpetuate a completely awful standard of Hardcore.

This community is a tiny percentage of the actual scene, very tiny indeed. The people buying this stuff is everyone else outside of this site and ush.net, and of course those of this site that do like it. Bare in mind that many people buying mainstream Hardcore don't care that much about it, certainly not enough to post on forums relating to it.

what i put in bold has nothing to do with me liking his old work. matricks said he has alot of stuff done you cant just say everything is bad....so alright i respect that.... so i rephrased it. It has nothing to do with liking anything
