i walk about and see fat people with big boxes of carlsberg because it's on special offer or something.
maybe i need to man up and be like a real 'man' cause i don't feel like one of 'them'. everything in town is glamerizing, tits, lager, footy, bbq, ladz culture. every town looks like a depressing dump with the grey skies, everyone looks like they're on heroine, and some teenagers are pushing prams around covered in world cup 2010 shite.
am i turning into a middle class media women like I'm from London or something or am I actually normal.

What town you from? Im from Poole in Dorset & so far football mania is yet to take over. I would dread to live in a 'rough' British town like Pompey (a northern town down south) where all the lads like a bit of football or in the Eastend of London or the depths of Greater Manchester & Mersayside where they drive around in cars with the England flag painted on.
I do hope England win this year though, but I would rather us win the Olymics in 2012 as that would be in our own country and we will be Great Britain instead of just England & it would be a chance to get at America who are convinced that they are the world's greatest country (who discovered them though?  )

In blackpool we are more than ready... Pubs have been repainted (on the outside) with st georges flag... Plenty of cars and houses covered...
In the bar where i work we just converted into showin it after shit loads of umin and rrrrring.... Yesterday we got rid of all glasses and changed to plastic...
We are more than ready for the world cup... And we are bein paid to watch it... Cant get better than that :)

It's quite the same as you said 95 where i live (Oldham, Smoogie do feel free to give everyone a quick, Wiki history of my town); larger, banners, flags, even the St George pram-faces. It's not that that bothers me though. The only thing that annoys me is when one of the Daily Star reading simpletons starts spouting about how they're not allowed to partake in such acts of patriotism at risk of upsetting and offending "the bloody muslims" cause "it said so in t'papuh".

I hate footy fever in general, and football altogether for that matter. I'd to know how exactly someone can feel elated about something someone else won, someone they don't even know no less. I might be happy if i won the world cup, or someone i know, but that's about it. What's also annoying is people who suddenly love football when England are playing but don't like it any other time. Talk about pretentious.
