I really hope we beat the English at their own game:):)
I really think we have a chance, have a good team this world cup and I would'nt say England is a favourite at all to win the worldcup. lol

Performances against Mexico and Japan which were uncovincing will follow against the US I bet Landon Donovan will hurt England.

Its highly unlikey the USA will win, its equally unlikely that we will win 4-0.
USA are no mugs, alot of their players play in England, so this is like a world cup final for them, they can win some serious bragging rights for when they go back to their clubs next season.
Players like Dempsey, Donovan, Bradley and Onyewu are all good players. With a slow John Terry and a regularly unfit Ledley King at centre half, if we face strikers with pace we could have difficulty. Its a good job Charlie Davies got injured for the USA because as far as I know he has a real turn of pace and would have been in their first team.
We didnt look brilliant against Platinum Allstars the other day (who finished 3rd from bottom in their division in the domestic season btw)
Also, an interesting fact, the USA is the most supported nation in South Africa (apart from RSA themselves!), something like 130,000 tickets for matches got sold to americans living at home, compared to just 70,000 to english living in england.
Having said all that, my prediction is 2-1 to England. Rooney and Crouch, and Bradley for the USA. DeMerit at centre half for the USA isnt upto standard, Onyewu has been injured 7 months so could struggle for a game or two, and bocanegra and cherundolo at full back are both now the wrong side of 30 and should struggle with our wingers.

Well no, not really. You're better than people give you credit for, and any win against you would be a good result, or even a draw wouldn't be too bad, but to say you have as much chance as anyone else is a bit silly. You're not a top team like Spain or Brazil, not even close.

never knew spain was a top team
but yea i'm american and i'll actually be rooting for England. simply because the US doesn't respect the sport enough to earn my attention. and also they're not that great they get lucky at best and will never be a serious contender for the world cup.
but funny to hear that the last time england & the US met in the world cup (i think in the 50s) the US actually beat England.

spain are one of the favorites and have one of the best teams in the world cup

I think it'll be a pretty tough match for england and won't be at all suprised if the yanks get a draw or more,and wilky 4-0 my arse if england win they'll scrape a win
