OK.

So, I have the music
the equipment
enough skill
some money
a STRONG willing

What do I do now to get out there and start DJing? There are no raves or parties out here. And if so I never hear about them.

How can I get my name out there to get the ball rolling?!

self-promotion is the best way to go i imagine. demo cds, utilize sites such as ustream, livestream, etc & also fb & soundcloud are good too.

Unless you truly love what you do, i wouldn't try to begin with, because that's the kind of time it takes.

Put up a mix on here! Its not as simple as having your list and saying right I'm now ready to conquer the world, you need feedback first, good and bad!

If you produce, then get some slammers out there....Pretty much everyone can mix and everyone is a "dj" nowadays, but if people have already heard of you from tunes you've made then you're more likely to get booked...

It's different here in America, most are DJ's and not producers.
I don't know where you live, but you need to go on ravelinks and find the closest rave to you and contact that promoter.

Thanks for the help everyone.
I'm working on my mixes almost every day. tying to get better and better. I have a few saved on my computer, but they all suck pretty bad.

And as of now I dont produce much music. I play around with it and put down any melodies that come to mind but im just not ready to start making music yet.

Yes, I truly love DJing and would do anything it takes to get my name heard. No matter how long it takes.

Close enough. Anyway yeah it's a good point. There is so much competition that i guess you just have to know the right people or get lucky, because there is so many people doing the same thing that no matter how good you are, it won't matter. As for becoming a producer just to try and get into the scene. Well no, i couldn't disagree with that more. The scene is already watered down from god awful Hardcore from many people doing exactly that (or for other equally poor reasons), we don't need more of that crap.

I do agree with you, there is so many shitty producers out there and alot of bad hardcore. But im just going from personal (well not personal but you'll see what i mean) experience. Asin Bruxx and me, we got asked to do ALOT of gigs due to people hearing his tunes or tunes we'd done together not even based on mixes we'd done (We couldn't actuaully do them because neither of us drive and were too poor to get the train lol). Plus spinning your own tunes in a mix you put out there will always make it that bit more original than most peoples mixes.

Welcome to the class of Wilky...

Step 1: learn how to arse lick

Step 2: learn how to suck cock

Step 3: you have to take mouth full of cum on ever suck (this is a must.... ask hixxy)

Step 4: you have to bend over like a bitch and take it like a man

Step 5: attend the gay awards held every year around october time and do your best (see above) to win one through out the year..

try internet radio's :) gets ur name out and eventually gets u a gig :) you get used to played for a little crowd.. most of the time not that big.. but least is something.. agree wif fingaz to produce and play your own tracks else you get wot pretty much everyone does, a non stop selection of the greatest hits and anthems. Stand out, do your thing and have a big mouth. If ya just gnna be quiet nd wait for it nuffin happends, you gotta search and take every oppetunity on your path. Even if that means you can spin simple house in your local club to get your name out its worth it. Just throw in some hardcore in the last 10 minutes and raise that middle finger to the organisation nd there ya go :) :P might sound a little wrong and the way to end your carreer within a week but it often helps to show people wot your really want to archieve. Brutallity? nah man.. its a way to make impact and show your are there and do wotever you please. That pays off with some respect and eventually gets u where u wanna go.

hope that helped.. cheers

Now THIS is helpful.
I have been looking for an internet radio I can join or start. The process is slow.

The search continues.

http://www.jedi-radio.com/
http://www.happynation.co.uk/
http://www.dancetransmission.com/

those are 3 easy going internet radio's from the top of my head who take in beginning unknown dj's. Although happynation I think asks for a monthly fee to play on there from the artist which is a bit gay.. you shud be able to support that urself when u set up a radio but ow well.. other 2 are free to play on for wot I remember and the crew is pretty nice :) Don't expect a million listeners but its a start ;)
