to the physical body, yes.
looking at the definition of even my username on this site, "the theory that the origin and phenomena of life are dependent on a force or principle distinct from purely chemical or physical forces".
i don't know what i believe in as far as a soul or an afterlife or what have you but i think there is more to life than we can all ever understand. i can't help but constantly get the feeling that there is just something magical to life.
i prefer to think of life/death in terms of the final fantasy 7 lifestream.
death in life and life in death i've always said. sometimes i feel like my consciousness is as old as time.

i have gotten to know someone who is... well, sick this summer and have been asking myself some similar questions lately. i think we all have a chance to encounter the same amazing spirit(s) in the next life but sadly we probably won't know.
i like to pretend that everyone i like and have met in this life are the same repackaged spirits from past lives. think of a child's toy that takes batteries, well eventually you have to throw them out but the toy is still good. i like to think of the body as a battery that eventually dies and the soul as a vehicle.
even though i don't necessarily "believe" in reincarnation in its most widely accepted sense.

I beleive theres something. I dont do the whole godthing but i do beleive in rrincarnation & spirtits.... But i dont think humans have the power to contact them, they're just mental people who use "spirits" to avoid a large needle and an institute...
