...Who were they?? Artists without a name or were they a pseudonym for someone else? I can't find any mention of them at all! I think they were the first people to use the "Your love is all in my mind" sample!

I've known the entire time, don't remember how. It's kind of just common knowledge amongst people who know their 90's Hardcore. Generally once you know what all the artists are doing label wise and such it's easy to find out who's behind what. Above all though i can hear from the production.

skills! i get that with 98 hardcore but to be honest its only standout tracks of 1996 that I recognise, I think anything that is older than 97 i really struggle with. a lot of oldskool nights and so on have some really banging 94-96 stuff but 97-99 is just a bit too new for them to play and of course you wont ever hear it in the main room which is a real shame! last time dj sy came down here to do an old skool set it went OFF like proper, he was mixing up the prodigy a lot of ragga and jungle classics and basically had the people in his hands was a REALLY great show and as much as i kept yelling and making hand signals for QUOSH TWENTY ONE (ravers anthem) he never played it which i cant say i blame him for! but yeah, those of us who like 97-99 hardcore never really get to hear it! i heard its the USAs equivilent of old skool because of happy 2B hardcore and so on so I'd really really like to go there and enjoy it to the fullest, otherwise i'll have to be a DJ and i'll have to be the one spinning it in the old skool rooms!

slush and puppie are really good though!! on a related note does anyone know who Phase and DJ Sniper were? I loved all of their releases but i can't even find a youtube video of fantasy island which is a BRILLIANT track. i wonder if they were just 1 time artists or similar to slush and puppie in that they were actually just pre-existing hardcore producers but i really can't think of the style that DJ Sniper and phase sound like so I'm really drawing a blank at that one

One time artists. Phase or Sniper, i can't remember which one, at some point years ago made a post on here in response to one of their tunes.
When i first started going to HTID (from HTID 1 to about HTID 20 or something like that) the 'Morning Glory' hour (5-6 am) in the main room always consisted of 95-99 classics. In fact you can still catch those sets all the time in the old school rooms of HTID/Uproar etc, though it's not main room but that's not a bad thing lol. Last rave i went to in Manchester Slipmatt played a set of 96-97 stuff, so did Vibes and so did Stu Allan, in fact the whole room was dedicated to that era.

Wow wicked! Shame I missed all the good stuff that went on ages ago >__< Have you heard any of Phase and Sniper's stuff? I really recommend fantasy island if you can get hold of it, it's got a really kind of neverland feel to it and wow I listened to it yesterday for the first time in ages, REALLY took me elsewhere.

Are you sure it's the same track?? I have one called fantasy with a nice melody and some vocals but I also have one called "Fantasy Island" which is instrumental..has what I can only describe as a kind of electric sitar sound in it. Very magical feeling for me!

Aaaah well...this is quite interesting! I've heard forevermore, I've heard fantasy..and looking at this website, the B side to fantasy is fantasy island

http://www.classictrax.ltd.uk/product.asp?class=backcat&genre=2&type=&artist=&title=&label=&searchTXT=&lastUpdated=&showWhat=&orderBy=label&Pge=7

Listen to the sample clip, it's the second half of the clip, that's the tune I'm talking about. Would have thought it could be maybe a vocal-less version but nothing else sounds the same! Curious!

At least I have some background on phase and sniper though! Thanks for that! There really are some serious gems out there that NEVER get played!

The names are just mixed up i guess, since there is only 2 songs by them out there that pretty much answers that one! There seems to be some random clip of tune in between the other 2, god knows what that is all about.

Well, it's on discogs!

http://www.discogs.com/DJ-Sniper-Phase-Fantasy/release/759309

Fantasy is the one that goes "You're my fantasy...in my world of dreams" or something. Fantasy Island is the one which is instrumental and has the sitar kinda sound in it. And forevermore has lyrics of "forever moreeee" in it (among others).

Apparently on the Forevermore 12" there is another song called 'Ignition Sequence Start" but I haven't heard it! I have to say that Fantasy Island does sound very Phase & Sniper so I'm pretty sure it's by them!
