Am i the only one who thinks this "3D" craze should have staid in the odd few comic books?
Annoying as hell, since their sticking it into every new movie these days.

was talking to my bro about this yesterday. I'm all for 3D movies but i'd like to think normal films will always be there alongside them. I really hope it doesn't become strictly 3D for all cinema movies in future. Hopefully it'll just be a passing phase.

I'm not into this 3D craze at all. I'd much rather watch a movie in 2D. I especially don't like how they're taking films MADE for 2D and slapping 3D on them. It looks very awkward and distracting. :/

hah, yeaaaaaaaa - timing i guess, i dont think as many people are going to the cinema these days 3D is the best way at getting people to go back in, if a person wants to see a 3D movie you cant (affordably) do it at home.
of course - 3D tvs are on there way in now and it'll be a few years till they get to resonable prices so the film industry will cash in as much as they can between now and then

personally i dont care if a movie is 3D or not, if given the option between either i would just choose the regular as its cheaper and i dont have to wear headache inducing dorky glasses.

It's a gimmick being used to try to rake in more money (not that I'm saying it's always for extra profit).

What's worse now is that it looks like stores are betting serious money on "3D" televisions. Well, at least here they are - all of the "regular" TV stock has been getting marked down in favor of the "3D" ones.

Aside from awkward and distracting, the process involved makes everything appear a LOT darker; that's why 3d screenings of multiple films like Shyamalan Avatar were incomprehensibly dark and murky in appearance. When it's done right though, such as with Smurfs Avatar...

I like it. When i'm not so skint i can actually afford an evening to the pictures that is, but cinemas have been ripping people off well before this 3D business came about.

I hate 3D. I don't have the best eyesight and it seems to make it worse. It's pointless as well. I always make the point of going to see the 2D version.

Me and the mrs pay 13 a month and you can go as much as you want and see what you want. Not bad really.

I dont hate films that are, but some just suck. But I dont watch the ones where you have to wear the glasses, as I cant wear them over mine, I have bad eyesight to.
Now i like the digital 3d, those are way better.

Everyone upgraded to a plasma, then an LCD, next 3D, after that they'll want you to buy OLED screens... it's marketing, don't believe the hype :)

I saw last week or so a chapter of The simpsons...
Bart and Homer were watching a 3D movie and then bart says something like:

"Wow! this is awesome! if only real life were 3d too!"

pure gold!

Just a way for the film industry to gain more sales by charging higher ticket prices. Nice point though and good example would be Jackass in 3d. Oh man :p

Thing I never got is why do they only sell rear projection 3d tvs in USA? Saw gizmodo review one, 80' monster for 4000US.
Know they get image burn easy, but would be ace for the lounge room.
